Ah where to start...

My name is Jennifer and I'm 25. I'm from northern California and am a Transgender MTF.

I've always known something was a little different about myself since around 7 or 8, can never remember how old I was. But since then it's been a roller coaster of hiding my true nature while trying to satisfy my distaste of what I was born as. I've been cross dressing on and off since I was around 13 moving from just simply wearing panties to fully dressing up. Eventually doing my hair and makeup when I would decide to let me hair grow out which was rare because I always felt pressured into keeping it short due to the social stigma's. But with doing all of this I never felt satisfied or complete. A big thing for me was looking in the mirror and not feeling as if I looked correct, this would become worse as I grew older and started seeing women naked and becoming immensely jealous.

Recently I finally admitted this all to myself. I couldn't bare what it was all doing to me anymore leaving my unable to concentrate at school and work along with endless nights of no sleep. So I outed myself to the first person ever, my girlfriend of two years; who I've actually known since Kindergarten. She took it pretty bad at first then seem to come around as we talked more. Now she teeter totters between being a little supportive to trying to talk my out of progressing any further. I'll be going to my second therapist session tomorrow which has probably been the most helpful thing I've decided to do. Along with telling my girlfriend and therapist, I've also told my dad and close friend and plan on telling my mom this weekend.

Well this definitely felt good and I hope to make some friends and get some support, seems to be the hardest to come by.

I'm so glad you're here & hope you find supporting friends here.  That's great that you've already told your dad & I hope things go well with your mom.  As far as your gf is concerned, hopefully she'll hop on board maybe after the initial shock wears off.  Try to be patient with all your loved ones, but in the end don't give up on what you need to do for yourself.  I wish you lots of luck!
