Largo Leader
By DAVE SHELTON

The City Commission will ask Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats to investigate whether any of the city's elected officials or employees violated the city charter in the months leading up to the firing of former City Manager Steve Stanton in March.

The commission was acting May 15 on a petition signed by some 200 residents who claimed Mayor Pat Gerard, Commissioner Gay Gentry and several city department heads violated the charter in having kept their knowledge of Stanton's sex change a secret.

I wonder if Largo, FL, should change their motto from "City of Progress" to "City of Inquisition"?  This sounds too much like a witch hunt...

That's just sick. Largo must be hotbed of conservative right wing activism; Susan straton's  life must have been living hell living in such a community.

Largo must be hotbed of conservative right wing activism;

Notice that it was in response to a petition with about 200 signatures.  That's 200 people out of something like 77,000.  It's like they got rid of their "problem" but they still can't let it go and smells as if somebody on the commission or in the city is out to get the mayor.
