Two strange questions

Ok guys, I've got a couple of strange questions that I've never heard anyone talk about. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced these things.

I am constantly rubbing my leg hair off in my sleep. I usually sleep on my right side so it's mainly the right side on my right leg that touches the bed. I've tried different sheets, softer blankets, sleeping with pants, just sleeping in boxers, etc. It still happens and it drives me nuts. I think I probably sleep like a dog and kick in my dreams. The friction must be what is rubbing it off. Anyone else been through this and found a remedy?

Second thing some may find gross but oh well. I can sense when my girlfriend is going to be on her period days before it happens. It kinda trips her out but I've always been able to do it. It is also the time that I am extremely horny. The time before and while she is on her period (she refuses to do anything while it's that time of the month though). I wonder if this is something normal that cis males go through also or if it's just something weird with me.

try satin sheets.  Helps reduce the friction of cotton.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Unfortunately, I doubt many cis males read this forum. I don't want to speak for them, in any case, and my own experience is something I doubt is relevant.

I would kind of wonder whether the combination of your male identity, and experience with periods and any subtle signs of them you might have detected pre-transition would have some relevance to such heightened detection and sensitivity to signs? OTOH, I have some vague recollection of reading stuff about pheremones, but most of it was couched in all kinds of disclaimers.

Desire for me did tend to go in waves, but I never went so far as to claim I was sensing the onset of menses. My sense was that my ex would have freaked out more than tripped out had I made such claims, so it was an area I learned to avoid examining, even though I was curious.  I take it the dynamics of your relationship made this an area where more open conversations were possible without adding stress and strain?

Interesting question.
I am a cisgender male and the hair issue happens. But, I have very fine hair and none in some places like underarms.
I really couldn't care less as it does not hinder my feelings about my masculinity. Don't let it bother yours if that's an issue.
The period issue I haven't noticed. I can just tell from being with the wife so many years.

I read whatever catches my eye many times but have no issues with helping out about questions about cisgender issues. Hope it helped.

I'll do that, thanks.  :)

Yeah, I put in there "I wonder if cis men have experienced this" and forgot to add transmen. My bad.

My gf and I talk about everything. Always have but I've always been very open in relationships. At first she didn't believe that I could sense when it was going to happen but after the first few times she started believing. Now if I mention it she knows to go buy herself some tampons, lol

Nahh, the hair issue doesn't make me insecure about my masculinity or anything. It's just annoying and looks stupid.

Hmm, I've never heard of the hair problem, but the sensing-your-girlfriend's-period is something I can talk about. I have heard of people saying they can sense when it is going to happen, but I personally never have. Then again, I am neither a cis-male, nor is my husband a cis-female (Ft?, though). However, I do know around when he will have his period because, even though it is usually irregular, I can usually rule out:
The week of the period
The week after the period
*usually* the week after that

That leaves me with about a two week range where it is up in the air. Also, I notice physiological signs, I think, so my predictions are usually accurate to the week that his period will be. Other than that, I have never sensed it.

It probably has more to do with the fact you aren't a cis male.

What I am about to say is really gross (to me, at least), so beware of triggers.

You don't menstruate -  I think you said you had a hysterectomy if I remember right?   And from T, of course. But your body still knows.

There's some evidence women in groups sync up cycles.  (http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/532/do-the-menstrual-cycles-of-women-living-together-tend-to-synchronize)

Some research/experiments confirm it, others say it could just be from chance, so the validity of this is sorta out there - but anecdotally, I've seen it to be true. When a group of women starts living together, a few of them will even start way earlier than they should just to match up. There's probably some hormonal/pheromone/ ancient monkey group life evolutionary reason for it, but whatever.  That is probably why you notice it.

As for horny factor - you're keyed into her cycle.  Some female bodies rev up for sex right before menstruation - kind of like a one shot deal before stuff gets cleaned up maybe? So maybe that's what your body is playing off of.

maybe that's when her pheromones go on blast and you're reacting to them?

I was an OEM male (MTF now), and I would get very horny just before my ex's monthly. She, on the other hand, would not be until after it was over.

I would think there's "something" that would cause a male to become aware of an impending period, since that's the best time to get her pregnant, but I wouldn't know for sure about that.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

Humans actually have a very good sense of smell, that we are sort of culturally conditioned to ignore. For instance, moms can recognize their babies by smell, and stuff like that. I am guessing women change smell before this. There is a lot of talk re: pheromones, I am guessing we sense rather than are actually aware we smell them.

I've done a little research on this (strictly for fun) being a dog trainer.

Doctor Oz says it isn't so :P
Also, I checked on Google for some hormone level charts for the menstruation cycle, that might explain the horniness.

There must be some way of telling because my girlfriend knows if I'm on it without asking or touching me, but I don't think she knows beforehand. I think it's probably due to whatever it is that makes groups of females sync up (and trust me, I lived in a girls' boarding house for years, it does happen).

I've never heard of leg hair coming off in the night, but the insides of my legs went bald when I used to horse ride. I think my father's go quite patchy on the inside too, but I can't really remember. Not sure of a solution though, tie your leg still maybe? :p
