Hi guys!
The spring is not too far behind the mountains, and I'd like to get prepared for the warm season and buy my first high heels! I recently dropped by our best Italian shoes boutique Basconi, where I bought my first fall and winter high boots. There just arrived a very nice new collection of high heels. I especially loved lacquered black and velvet vinous ones - they are just fabulous. The heels are 12 cm on a platform of 2 cm. The models are in the style of the latest fashion. My girl friend and I go there this Friday, and I probably buy both pairs to go with my black and red dresses I showed you before. I am So Excited to wear them already!

I love heels too! But God are them things torture devices! Sometimes the best thing about them is you can take them off. Anyway congrats on the new shoes.

Thank you, Heather! So nice of you.
I agree that they are not so comfortable to wear. But sometimes we need to tolerate inconveniences to look absolutely feminine. And they make a whole lot of difference. IMO, high heels are a must have item in a wardrobe of any fashionable girl.

I love that you get excited about shoes. They've never had that effect on me, but I do like the look of heels and wear them some of the time. I'm long waisted, so wearing heels with jeans makes my legs look long enough.

12cm is 4 1/2 inches. Those are really high ones. I don't  have anything higher than 3.

Thank you for your comments, Lyric!
It is funny, but my sister and my girl friend said recently the same words, that they draw the love to feminity and self-respect from me!
..I probably was envy of the girls for too long so that now I am so excited.

As it is winter here, high heel boots are a trend among young girls. Most girls in the street wear > 4 inch (10 cm) heels. Although ankle strap can give extra support, 4-inch heels are still uncomfortable to walk long while carrying a big bag. It is just a small difference of 1 inch (2.5 cm), but I am a little bit preoccupied with the height of heels. I sometimes wear 4 inch heel boots, but 3-inch heels are just as comfortable as plain athletic shoes. I avoid thigh-high boots for some hygienic issue.

An amazing thing here, especially in Seoul, is that some girls wear just sheer nude stockings under short pants at -10 degree Celcius (14 degree F) temperature. The girl in the above photo is better, as she is wearing at least long boots and tights.

I just wonder whether there is any biological difference between legs of men and women in enduring the coldness.

A nice post, Barbie!
The heightened by 2 cm platform will make my heels the usual and popular 10 cm high.
Wow, you've got a lot of show!
I also was wondering about girls wearing only thin stockings, but nowadays (at least in our country) they wear warm and thermo leggings - they are very soft (I've got a pair). I can tell you that girls are more susceptible to the cold than men - I myself now experince it, so easily freezing.

I too am infatuated with the look of high heels.  Unfortunately I am afflicted with age, and cannot wear them, so i remain envious of you younger fasionistas.

And yes, geneticallly, the female skin is thinner ( also induced by HRT) and thus females are more susceptible to the cold.

I love heels as well, but I try to avoid them since I'm tall and have big feet, rather not bring attention to those details even more than they already are =(

Me to but I don't pass right now anyway! So people are going to stare at me regardless. :icon_lalala:

Don't worry I don't pass yet either.

I got to admit sometimes I like it. It's funny the looks you get from some people. But I do hope to fully pass someday so I figure the stares want last forever.

Don't mind me popping in for a minute, but from my observations, a lot of women will absolutely sacrifice comfort for looks. My sister would freeze her rear end off by wearing uggs and a tiny fluffy jacket in a blizzard instead of actually dressing warmly.

Barbara, thanks for your positive input! I guess, we should be shining like stars while we are young and pretty.

Ha-ha-ha! Sometimes now, just for a fun, I miss those perplexed looks, trying to figure out who I am. But they don't do it now. .. You will pass some day - you already look great, Heather.

That is true. Especially the young ones - sacrifice comfort and health too.

OK, here are the shoes I am getting: on the 1st pic - the black ones, and on the 2nd pic - the vinous ones.

Oh my pretty, but they are tall heels! I've actually seen a woman run half a block to her car in heels like that, I don't know how she did it and so gracefully. Some women who have to dress up for work wear sports shoes enroute and carry their heels in a bag to wear once they get there, probably because they hurt their feet. My spouse had both feet repaired from Bunyan's caused by wearing heels all day in the workplace. There is a lot of pressure applied to just the ball of a woman's foot while wearing high heels. They do make a woman's ankles and calves look pretty though.

Yes. It sounds right. Foot pain + coldness would not deter them. They are indeed brave, more than men.
