Today I went to my middle school's young alumni dinner, and most of my friends weren't there, so I went and sat near some guys I remember were pretty cool. At first they thought I was my brother, which is funny considering I don't have a brother, but then they recognized me once I faced them.
Even though they realised I was a girl, they still talked to me like I was another guy. It was great! Most guys won't have conversations like that around girls

Really cheered me up considering before that I was sitting in a corner alone feeling self-conscious. Most people from my middle school either recognize me immediately or don't recognize me at all and think I'm my brother, so I'm always cautious around them. It was nice to be recognized and still treated like a guy
