I don't even think we need a military...

Well, your thinking is wrong....the world needs our military...the current French campaign in Africa could not be sustained or executed without the USAF...

Why does the world need our military? Why do we need to be helping the French in Africa? People come to America to get away from the rest of the worlds problems, why should we get involved in them?
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Well, I don't agree that the US should get involved in everyone's business, but having a strong military does keep people in check and enables people to solve serious issues when the time arises. If it weren't for the US military, World Wars 1 and 2 may have ended a lot differently. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not be speaking German right now. Scary.  :(

Why not?  German is such a beautiful language.   Achtung! *saliva flies everywhere, kitties duck for cover*

I feel that females who pass the basic standards now present and are fit for combat roles should be allowed to participate

Hey a video my ADD will let me watch to the end. Even though I was distracted by the Calvin Klein ad that ran before it with that hot guy in his boxers. Oh yeah were was I at? Oh yes I believe to that women who fit should be allowed in combat. :icon_dance:

As former military, and as someone who has served in combat and who has taken enemy lives... Mr. Beck is full of sh!t. Period. He has no clue. And when I say taken lives, I mean face to face, upfront and personal. Not shooting targets from a chopper/plane or launching missiles off a ship to some far away target. There are several other countries that allow women in combat, Israel is one Poland, Romania, Australia, Norway, Sweden, France, and Finland are a few others.

Are all people qualified for combat duty? No. But there are many males that for many reasons (health, religion, etc.) including some guys who simply don't have the stomach for it, that pass on combat duty. They serve in other roles. I know not every woman is capable of combat duty on the front-lines, but believe me, there are some that are. I've met and have seen what they can do. Should standards be lowered? Absolutely not. But if a person can pass whatever physical training or requirements necessary for combat duty, that person (regardless of gender or sexual orientation) should be allowed to serve. Period. It's only a matter of time before transgendered people are included as well. I and a few others I know are proof of that.

Mr. Beck needs to focus on his own personal issues, before judging others. His veiled discriminatory diatribes, which he tries to conceal as his "genuine concern for this nation" are garbage. I see now why he was kicked off Fox News... he was even too nuts for them. Wow.

For the part highlighted in red, it sounds as if you are in agreement with Glenn Beck.

I so remember sitting in a restaurant in the USA just before the Iraq war - the war to destroy the WMD that the USA intelligence had discovered. The French had lead the campaign to not invade saying it would cause nothing but disaster.

This person was reading the paper and joked. 'Ha what would the French know about Foreign policy?'

Possibly a hell of a lot more than the USA in that instance?

There are alot of men in history who had *good points* and why they had so many followers, does that make them a good person or that they are out for whats right by others? hell no.everyone has a right to their opinion and their right to live/listen/do as they see fit and to force someones views onto another is selfish in my eyes.. thats like saying *well if you wont drink coffee then you have no right in your opinion about its health risks* .....riiiight. *well if you havent smoked then you have no right in teaching your kids its wrong* fact is the man is a d*** wad and *as stated here* has no right to state his opinion on a subject he hasnt done/hasnt experienced his self.nough said

Damian, I don't understand. Are you for or against allowing people to speak about issues, despite lack of direct experience? You believe that everyone has the right to an opinion, but that he doesn't have a right to an opinion on this subject?  I'm confused.  ???

Anywho, no one's saying that Glenn Beck is a great person. He just made some good points, is all.

Oh no,im saying if he has a right to his opinion,so does everyone else.one can not be allowed an opinion while no one else can.experience comes in many forms, not just doing it their self.living with a smoker is the same as being one.you may not have done it but you have seen its effect and so on.he has no experience with the military *he stated this his self yes?* so why should that opinion matter? allow his opinion then you will allow others is what im saying.
