Bad news:  The ride home ended horribly.  My parents don't believe I'm trans* and they don't think I've researched this.  They don't believe I've looked at all of the different angles.  I'm so goddamn tired and pissed off and upset by this because of how they were saying it.

She still says she's supportive, but I haven't heard a thing that suggests that.  It's like she's attacking me and she says it's because I'm not making it sound like I've thought this through.  My dad is right alongside her.  "Every story I've heard of has it where the person knows they were different from a young age!" or "It was easy to tell from a young age."  Goddammit.  So I was girly and I played with girl things and had girl friends.  I also played with guy things and had guy friends.  Toys were toys and friends were friends.  I didn't think I was any different because I couldn't have given a damn about my inner workings when I was young.  I was just me and I never truly felt the social pressure of gender roles until I was much older and changes became far more evident. 

Apparently I'm not ->-bleeped-<-ing masculine enough for them to believe me.

But the upside is that they're at least saying that they are supportive, in which case they should be open to learning more about it with some guidance towards helpful resources from you. Yeah, it sucks that you have to justify who you are, but there are much worse alternatives. Best of luck, man!

I'll believe she's supportive when she acts like it.  I've given her "True Selves" and I've linked her to Susan's.  She's also more than welcome to come to the trans support group.  She also knows she can contact the HRC and  PFLAG for further help.  She has not done a damn thing.  The book has been on the counter for the last three days and they even stuck a bunch of papers on it that I promptly moved.

I'm trying to give her resources, but she's not taking me up on them.  And she won't talk to me about it without trying to convince me I'm not male.  Hell, I can't possibly dislike sex because of my bits.  "It's a sign of a deeper mental issue than that."  Why can't it just be because my bits aren't fun for me? Edit:  Then she throws out some b.s. that you have to have anal if you're with a man in a gay relationship and that if I don't like sex now then I won't like sex after transition [which is always possible, but it's not like I care].

It'll be OK, Aaron. It's not about you. A lot of how people respond is based on how they feel...if you were super masculine as a kid they'd probably still say there were no signs. Or if they acknowledged it, they'd say you didn't try hard enough to be a girl or something. They're just trying to find ways because it's transitioning itself they have an issue with, not any part of you.

Ok, I have to say that I am ticked off. Two of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons are being cancelled: Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

What's worse is that one of the shows replacing them is "Teen Titans: Go." It's a show about the Teen Titans' antics outside of saving the world. I don't watch Saturday morning cartoons for a sit-com!

Yes, I'm fine. Like I said, It's just another scary step I'll be taking. I'm hoping to find a job where no one knows me so I won't have to deal with all that BS regarding pronouns and stuff again. I don't plan on being stealth, but I don't plan on making my being transsexual the thing that defines me either.
I picked up my stuff from work today and filled a big tote with stuff I had accumulated. It's amazing how much crap you can build up in 4 years. Such a stressful job and yet I hate to leave my friends.  I'm sure it will lead to better things later on though ^_^ But thank you for asking Felix.

I have a hard time leaving even godawful jobs so that's not abnormal. I do think it's a good turn of chance that you won't have to be defined by your transition at your next workplace. Sometimes that can be helpful but it gets in the way too.

Aaron I'm sorry they're hassling you so much. If I were you I'd give up on fighting them and just wait until you're out on your own. My gosh if I had to depend on other people's permission to do things I'd have seven kids and live as a woman and go to church all the time and live off of fried chicken and hush puppies. I'd never have had a real job and I certainly wouldn't be on testosterone.

Also, anal sex? Really? If that's not a mandatory part of parenting or childhood for cis and straight kids there's no reason it should be leverage in any argument with you. I wish it were possible for you to be somehow distanced enough to laugh when people bring up that kind of stuff.

I might be a bit feminine for a guy but I was masculine for a woman so opposy daisy i guess I'm not a woman either. Actually one of my good friends who was brielfy a girlfriend told me that I am the most gender neutral man she's ever met,  in terms of respression anyway because i am binary in terms of my transition itself.
