What social network do you use the most?

I was just thinking about the changes in social networking over time. So many people use different websites nowadays and it's so hard to determine which one is most popular. I'm also interested in how it differs over different cultures and places etc.

I used to use Myspace the most until they got rid of forums. Now I guess it would be facebook, but not all that much since I've withdrawn a bit more.

Facebook is my primary social network, although I've started using Twitter. My publisher suggested it could be a good way to hype my book.

On the professional side, I also used LinkedIn.

I think that forums in general would count as social media. But this is the only forum I'm actually a member of these days!

Through both Facebook and Twitter, I've been able to connect with other trans persons to give and get support.

And through just Facebook, I've become a quasi-mentor to at least 4 trans youth: 2 FTMs I met through my kids, and 1 MTF and 1 genderqueer/FTA I met through people at church.

Our Family Coalition's Transgender Parents Support Group has an FB page so those who can't make it to the meetings can still get and give support through the FB group.

My blog, which also connects through FB, has connected me with trans persons around the country and world (I have at least 3 FTM followers in the London area).

So, in my experience these social media have been anything but "retarded".

Susan's is my "social network" of choice.  I spend most of my time here in the forums and at chat.

I do have facebook, but it was only for when my highschool was getting ready for its 50th reunion, it gave me the chance to chat with old classmates.  And yes, my classmates know of my transition and I was still welcome.

I do have a Facebook account but I've not been on it in years, and its full of guy pictures of me! Also the people I know only post stupid stuff. "Whoa! You're stuck in a queue. Get a life"

Here most, then twitter, then very occasionally I'll look at facebook, mostly only if I need to talk to someone I used to know, which happens less frequently than a blue moon.  I'm on youtube quite a bit as well.
