Big weather is coming to Boston tomorrow, that means stocking up! Fill your bathtub with milk and hunker down. Is everyone ready? Let's see.
Shovel? Check.
Rock salt? Check.
Food? Check.
Dog food? Check.
Batteries/flashlight? Eh, don't need it, snow cover means its never really dark anyway.
Gas in car? Pffffft. Where am I going?
Bread, milk, eggs? No, thanks, I overdosed on French toast after some childhood snowstorms.
Little Debbies? Yes sir, yes sir, two boxes full!
Did I miss anything?

Be safe everyone.

You could use the flashlight in the event that some winds and/or snow shut off power by damaging power lines. It happens. Be prepared.

Also:
-Insulated undergarments.
-Waterproof jacket/pants.
-Window crease insulation.
-Flamethrower (Kidding! )

When I saw the title, I was thinking, "What, is DQ having a sale today? Get spoons!"   :D

Take care, all ya'all...  :o

eta: "DQ" = Dairy Queen, a popular soft ice cream company in the US (I don't think it's just regional).

There's a Dairy Queen here, but it closes every winter.

I keep seeing their commercials, but I've NEVER seen a DQ, or Sonic for that matter. Actually, I saw ONE Sonic in PA. Still, they're hard to find.  ???

No Sonics here, no Whataburgers or White Castle, either.

Re: Sonic. They're a lot easier to find in the Southwest (where I finished high school a long time ago). They've really only begun expanding to the east coast in very recent years. You do see their ads much more than the drive-ins, at least in my part of NJ. Still, I know where one is within about a 5-10 minute drive (close by, for my neighborhood). And I'm seeing more and more of them every year.

DQs are much older, but again, not so many of them on the East Coast, but there was one near the house we rented when we moved to NJ, almost 20 years ago. DQ doesn't seem to be expanding much, and given East Coast weather (or at least that of winters past) I think Friendly's and, at one time, especially around Boston, Brigham's tended to shut them out, for the most part.

Bracing for the edges of the Nor'easter here as well.

A really good book to fill in the time:

"JamieD's Guide to Toe Nail Cleaning" seems to be a bit of a dark horse on the best seller list!

Not sure how many countries DQ is in but I know there is one on Grand Cayman Island on the Cayman Islands.

The snow has started here. I'm home, got all my supplies. I hope everyone gets off the roads before it gets nasty out there.

Stay safe, beloved sister.  And keep warm.  Puppies are good for that.

Good luck everyone! (We had a dusting of frost here this morning... :o...in the Seattle area 1/2" of snow = two feet back east, in terms of drivers who get stuck)

No kidding. We don't need a repeat of 78 thats for sure.
Maintenance jokes about putting a snow plow on my wheelchair. Now that would be fun. LOL

This is going to be fun because I can go dog sledding tomorrow. I'm psyched lol :)

I don't have any snow yet, waaaah.

Milk in the bathtub? I thought it was water in the bathtub.

There's a Sonic in DE along RT 13. If you've been to DE, you know that it's pretty much the main road for anywhere you go in the state.

They're banning travel on the roads after 4 PM with the exception of essential services. Get home if you live in Massachusetts. Hugs, Devlyn

Its sixty, sunny and windy here near Cape Lookout. A rather pretty day despite the wind. Do have high tides though. I certainly don't envy your snow a bit. When I went to First Event in '05, it snowed 30 inches up there. It made me a few days late getting back home due to cancelled flights, but I had a friend to stay with.
