A couple of years ago I stopped watching TLC's What Not To Wear.  After five years, it was too much repetition.  So it was just because of that cruise ship taking up MSNBC's line-up that I was surfing last night and found the show again — this time with the one twist I'd always wanted to see.  The make-over was for a transgendered woman.

I don't know, but I'm thinking it wouldn't be any more informative than that blurb. I've tried watching that show before. It's about 2-3 minutes of useful information, then they hand them some money and send them shopping alone. I think that show would be so much better if they went with them shopping and explained things as they went.

Ok, I'm probably confusing this to another similar show, which takes about 2 to 3 women and does a full transformation for them. Each episode I think is closer to an hour. I think it's a British show, but can't remember its name.

My! In EU and Israel 'what not to wear' is presented by Trinnie and Susannah, who advise very, very funnily as well....this version of  'what not to wear' is something completely different!

I think her outfit shouldn't be worn by anyone, transgender or not, lol.

And it did seem like they were actually trying to avoid referring to her as female. The lady host used the term "person" too much.

You might be right about this one doing that, but if I'm remember this show and not another one, they really didn't talk about hair styles or makeup. The whole show was basically them shopping for a new look, then a back of the head shot while they did the makeup and hair and voila. All done. Maybe I'm too picky. I want a marathon of a tv show that explains step-by-step the clothes, makeup, and hair! I'd watch it all week. I may even record it and watch it all year.

True, I long for this kind of show too. Although you can find bits and pieces from internet, but not a comprehensive guide. Born into a girl body from the start and you can practice for the first 10 years, but I cannot practice for 10 years, I'll be dead before that, lol 

I've kind of started to like Rachael Ray Show. It's just not about fashion, but all sorts of things, but in each episode there is something useful information. Also I kind of like how she dresses, thus it's fascinating to watch her

we should all just put together a comprehensive guide for dressing as a transgendered person. you know, just some basic tips to get people started and what works for certain body types and how to accentuate or hide certain things.
