Sometimes I draw stuff

I thought I could show off my drawings and other art-related stuff here, too...

As a little info, I'm pretty much a self-taught artist and I've been drawing more or less actively since the late 2003.
One could say that I specialise in drawing male humanoid characters and my main focus is on my original characters and I have around 120 of them at the moment.
I work on both traditional and digital media but most of the time my artworks are a combination of both; sketching and inking done traditionally, coloring digitally (with a mouse, dammit!).

But here we go...

My OC (original character) Ryuu Hosokawa who is a FTM. :P
He's pre-everything in this one.

Same guy, Ryuu. This time on T and post-op.
The kanji reads as "otoko" and it means "man" when speaking of genders.

A conceptual sketch for my online friend. Done with a pencil.
Also my first attempt with more traditional Japanese style...

Art trade with another online friend. :P
I seriously have zero experience when it comes to drawing horses and I think it's quite obvious.

I had a bored moment one day and I decided to make a wallpaper of the movie Prometheus.

Little photography!
The sky actually looked like that one day and it reminded of the transgender pride flag. ;D
I only upped the saturation a bit because my lousy camera killed the colors.

Wow, you're very good. :D Liking all this.

Love your work!

P.S. your people drawings have real pathos.

Thanks, Trixie and MadelineB. ;D

I try to get some more stuff here, too. If I can manage to draw something that's "safe for work", that is... Now you know my dark secret, oh noes!

This surprises me. In a positive way.
I think my own emotions and feelings tend to seep through especially when I draw Ryuu (well duh, he's a FTM).
But it's really nice to hear my drawings are actually appealing that way, too. :D

wicked nice tossu-sama! I like your hands, I really suck at drawing/painting hands.

My tip for drawing hands is not to hide them by drawing in the pockets, behind the back etc.
I basically stopped doing that and thus forced myself to draw hands in all kinds of positions. Can't say they're perfect but at least I practice a lot. :D
And references. Some tend to stomp those who use references but I really recommend that.
If nothing else, use your own hands! ;)

I would post some of my latest stuff here but since they're a bit... inapproriate I won't.
Digging through my Tumblr or y!Gallery (registering there required) will pay off, though.

Well, I finally managed to draw something that's not NSFW.
But it's something that shows off what I like to draw the most and what I think I draw the best.
...Men with nice set of muscles, that is.

My OC, Scotty Cheng.
He's a triad member and one violent mofo. Likes to pick fights and kick some ass. ;D
  •

Erik Ezrin

Wow, very nice! I'm so horrible at drawing muscles, y'know ::)
Great work, keep it up!

Hehe, thanks. ;D

My tip for learning to draw muscles is to use references and possibly exaggerate them first. Like drawing bodybuilders, it really helps to get the hold of how the muscles go and it can be adapted to smaller guys. :D

Something new from me that isn't NSFW... Unlike the last one. Must've been the dirtiest one person pic I've ever drawn!

He's my latest character, too.
Cobalt is just his artist name, he's a Korean male idol. :P

But his hair's base color is exactly the shade of cobalt blue!

//EDIT:

To avoid double-posting, here's some pencil stuff from me.

My OC Javier Benavidez.
He's scarred up like that because of a grenade. He's also missing both of his legs knee down. :P

Please excuse any mistakes as English is my second language.

Thanks! ;)

Your 'conceptual sketch' of the one eyed japanese style is freakin awesome! :D I love it! The detail is fantastic!
I'm shy, and rarely reply, but give me time and I'll eventually open up to Susan's ^u^

One good reason why I leave some stuff to the pencil sketch stage is that inking makes them lose details.
And my pencil sketches seem to be more... flowing. Y'know, they got more movement. Then I can't get it into inked works at all, agh.

Anywho.
I did my first Skyrim character.

Larzuk Beast-Breaker, a knight/tank Orc with full Dragonplate Armor and Dragonbone Sword.
Currently at level 49 or 50, can't remember. All Werewolf perks open.

Characters like this are the reason why my 0.05 pens are slowly dying... THE BODY HAIR.

I'm also working on my second Skyrim character and so far, it's been a real pain in the backside.

WORK IN PROGRESS.

I seriously have almost zero experience when drawing anthro animal characters...
Not to talk about coloring them digitally.
Just getting the flat colors that way took me several hours.
Add the fact that I use mouse for coloring.

Shamelessly bumping my own thread. 8I

But I did a centaur!

Also my newest character called Pyry Ukonpoika.
Supposedly based on a trotter type Finnhorse.

Made me realize that horses are pretty fun to draw... Centaurs and A4-papers just don't mix very well. You know, limited space.

Nice work.  :) It looks like it would be fun to be a centaur.

I am jealous you can draw really good. My favourite has to be the Khajiit. I would like to see you draw a Argonian  :P

I would definetly give being a centaur a try for day or two!

Thanks. x) Took almost ten years to get to this point.

Argonian requested, Argonian delivered!

My third Skyrim character, Tulon-Het.
Level 50 mage with Destruction and Alteration at level 100. ;D
I imagine him to be a bit pudgy despite of running around Skyrim. Guess he likes sweetrolls and some ale while doing research in the Arcanaeum! :D

As an extra, a huge picture of all my Skyrim characters in height comparison!

And my fursona:

He's a sabertooth cat, more accurately Smilodon populator. 8)

You put a smile on my face =]

Lawrence John is also looking bad ass. I need to get myself a 'Level Up' t-shirt =D

(Couldn't help but notice all bottom halfs are cut off...)

Woot, my crappy clothing design skills aren't so bad after all! :D
I seriously have the worst sense of color combinations so I end up mishmashing everything. XD

Bottom halves didn't fit on the paper. :P And I had to make something dA-friendly, too. :'D
My art Tumblr has plenty of bottom halves, though. :B

I had to check out your Tumblr, didn't i :-X I  was thinking, surely not, maybe boxers with a bulge, but no,

I assume i also saw you, thankfully with clothes on  ::)

Maybe you'll work on some more pictures like Lawrence John, with bloody clothes (or armour)  :D

It doesn't seem wrong mismatching colours, but that's just me.
