I'm not sure how many guys can make it out to this event, but when I noticed that RM was based in Pennsylvania, I shot them an email asking if they would consider applying to be a vendor at this year's conference.  I figured it would be a great opportunity for people to actually see and feel the products before buying...I know that was very helpful for me last year when I attended and got to check out the limpy, sailor and private packers.  Anyway, today I got this on Facebook:

REEL MAGIK

Exciting news for all of our ftm friends and customers!

We will be attending the Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference from June 13th to June 15th. Our table will feature a number of our ftm medical prosthetics that will be on display with a hands-on experience. We will also have a limited supply of our Basic Packers available at a SALE PRICE!

AND...that's not all...we will also be offering the chance to win one of our custom FTM Medical Prosthetics...a $600 value! Please come and join us!

So exciting!  I sent out a few other vendor requests for MTF products (since they were lacking at the last con)...I hope they decide to come out as well!

That's awesome, too bad I don't live in the area. Good idea to ask people to be a vendor though, I know we have a trans confrence up in Boston (not sure of the dates).

It's about time more companies are getting into this...I wish more would do it too.  There are so many products that I'm sure we would all love to be able to touch and examine up close before we buy.  That's the only problem with the internet...sure you have access to things from all over the world, but you have to rely on reviews from others and only the information provided by the company:(

No worries, Harlee.  I'm hoping that at least this will up the number of people with tactile expereince and pictures of the product, so there can be a few more mini reviews, at least!  And maybe, if this is successful for RM, they will do an international conference one day.

Just wondering if anyone here went to the conference.  I wasn't able to make it, but one of my friends told me that Reelmagik was there with their new products and that they were "F****NG AMAZING".  He said they were SO NICE and were answering all kinds of questions, including questions about stp's and upcoming products.  Apparently they had their basic packers on sale for $65 and were giving away a free $600 prosthetic and 2 packers.  Love to hear comments from anyone else that might have went.

I made it! It was AMAZING.  Here's a quick rundown before I turn in (I just got home to NYC after trekking down to the Con), but I'll go more in-depth later:

From what I can tell, the whole team was there: three guys in total. And yes, they were extremely sweet and accommodating.  Even to me, and I was literally there for a good twenty minutes feeling up the merchandise and asking questions on and off.  They set up a table displaying three types of products: their basic packers (in all five colors) and two versions of their prosthetics (three with flex rods-a 6 in advanced w/ human hair in an M6, an 8 in advanced w/ synthetic hair in an M15, and a 10 in advanced w/o hair in what looked like an M6, as well-and one without-an M6 (I think) advanced w/o hair).  They also brought along actual color samples, one for each of the skin tones offered.  Now for the fun.

1. The overall look and feel of the prosthetics were TO DIE.  The balls were especially realistic, on the 4 in, specifically.  I could not tell the difference between the prosthetic and the real thing in that respect, or in respect to coloring/detailing.  The shafts on the larger prosthetics were a little less realistic, IMO because there was so much material and the material is so motile and flexible that when the flex rod is bent, it bunches up oddly.  This didn't happen on the 6 in, though.
2. They are working on new designs, including an STP, a "mid-range model" between the 4 in and 6 in versions, and THREE-DIMENSIONAL TESTICLES on their current 6 in and 8 in models.
3. As it stands, the 6in and 8 in DO NOT have full 3D balls and they were smaller than I expected.  The new 10 in (which was properly massive...almost comically so, but looked amazing anyway) has 3D balls similar to the 4in model.
4. The skin tones look very different in person.  At least a shade lighter than expected for the brown tones, and in some cases "deeper" or "blander".  They really need to agree to send out customer samples.
5. They debuted two new "additions": a human hair option (for people who want hair punched into their prosthetic) and a 10-INCH PROSTHETIC w/FULL 3D BALLS.
6. They explained the design of their flex rod and why it doesn't bend closer to the body...more on that later.
7. They explained how they updated their design to make it more difficult for the flex rob to accidentally "poke through".
8. They are currently working through a 100 order queue and in the midst of a move to a larger studio.  Orders will take longer because of this (and there was A TON of enthusiasm, so I'm sure orders will pour in over the next few weeks).
9. Their packers are much softer than they used to be; I wore mine to the Con and was amazed at the difference in feel between mine and the ones on display.  One of the guys told me that mine was a "firm" model; apparently, they used to sell different softness options, then only the firm, and now, an updated version of the soft is their default.  You CAN specifically request a harder model, however.

So great to hear all of that nowhereboy! Sounds awesome, and I really wish I could have gone along to see them! I think the most exciting thing for me is just that the three guys who run it are nice, accomodating, and perfectly comfortable with dealing with the FTM community. I'm also really excited to hear about the STP option they're working on; I can't wait to find out more! :D

I saw them there and they were amazing. Most everything i could say would be just repeating what nowhereboi said, except they replaced my packer for me. It was peeling which i assumed was normal, but they said it wasnt and were very surprised when i showed them it. They replaced it for me for free. They were really great.

I'm curious how you guys who took your packers when you saw them showed them to the guys from Reelmagik. I'm having visions of you whapping out your dicks and saying "here have a look!"

But seriously, it's great to know there are good and honest people making things for us, especially when it's such a personal part.

I know exactly what you mean; I was really hesitant to bring it out, but they said it was fine and kind of laughed because really, the whole table was covered in prosthetics, so being shy was a little silly.  I'd cleaned, powdered and bagged mine ahead of time (mostly because its uncomfortable to sit for a long time with it on while traveling; I have the firm version, apparently) and so all I had to do was pull out the bag.

I went to the conference as well and saw the booth. I really want one after top surgery.

Did they mention anything about when these models will be available? I am very interested in getting one and comparing it to the emisil. I have heard alot of good things about both prosthetics

I asked about the peeling on the first day and they asked me to bring it in (not in my pants) the second day.
But actually the aslan leather guy whipped out his dick for me to show off his harness which i found extremely hilarious.

They didn't know, unfortunately.  I assume it'll be a long time, considering how much they have going on.  They also made it seem like these were still in "sketch" stage, as opposed to something they've developed any kind of prototype for.  I really REALLY wish they had some sort of sample, maybe a smaller version like the ones that Like Real sends out? For reviewers. That would be perfect for comparative purposes.  A color sample service with actual silicone samples would be amazing.  I kind of want to shoot them a message about that, because I would have never picked the color that matched me best from the chart on the site, and if their print outs are anything like the ones they brought to the con, then those wouldn't have been much more helpful (they were much darker).

The one thing I did learn is that the guys are paying attention.  They know about Susan's and are reading and trying to take all of our requests into consideration; they just don't have the staff to put out prosthetics, do custom orders, and create new designs all at one time.  I have to admit, I kind of scoffed at this until I started trying to cast myself.  It is SO intense and takes so much time to do correctly...and with all the layers that have to set before you can move on...jeez.

So I'd def. say that if you have any concerns or problems with their design, tell them. Be vocal about it.  And I really believe that they will try and make things better.

I went to the conference and saw RM (many times as it happened, even ran into them at the Reading Market, where they seemed a little embarrassed :)) They are super nice guys. I ended up kind of joking with Jesse by coming over just about every time I passed and picking up the extra large one. :)  I am pretty sure if one of them isn't trans then they have friends who are, as they were really comfortable with trans people.  I asked how much of their business was packers and prosthetics-- was surprised to hera that it was now something like 50%-- and said they'd like more of it to be.

The coloring looks super good-- really impressed with this. I thought the huge one was rather on the silly side though. But I did hear that someone asked for it and (at least it started) as a special order.

I agree Nowhereboi. I have a friend that does prosthetics, he has put maybe 1000 hours and tons of money and is still nothing like full-time at it. It takes 100 hours to work on one prosthetic. They are just crazy time consuming and silicone is super unforgiving. Tons of things can go wrong and only a few things can go right.

I had a great time at the conference btw.

It sounds like it would have been a great thing to go and see! Was there anything mentioned about foreskin? As soon as they create one with foreskin I will buy it  8)

Il have to shoot them an email aboit being a tester for their new line of stuff coming out. It would be a great opportunity to see and feel and RM and it would also be great to compare RM and Emisil. I will email them today about it and ill let you guys know what they say when they reply

It won't hurt to ask of course, but I am guessing that RM has their friends test their products-- I am pretty sure after meeting them that they are so confortable wiht trans people it can only be personal experience.
