Does your family think you look different?

Just wondering for the people on T... Has any of your family members and friends say you look different on T or you look the same as you did pre -T?

My cousins tell me I look exactly the same as I did pre-T which frustrates me a lot. Then other family members, like my mom said I have changed. I'm thinking maybe b/c the changes are so gradual my cousins  and friends can't see any changes...? But then again, my mom can see changes, why can't they?

I guess it depends what they are looking for. My family has all noticed changes, but they've all noticed different ones. My youngest brother just thinks I am hairier. My mom only notices my voice. My other brother notices my fat distribution changes. My grandma has noticed my shoulders getting broader.

I would never trust family members to judge something like that. There's just such a mess of emotions over being trans that it would be almost impossible to determine if they're being truthful or not. They might want to make you feel better if they're supportive, or be in denial about it and if they're not, or anything in between. Get someone more objective to judge, not family or friends, if you can.

Yeah, that's what it's like with my family too. I've only asked my cousins and friends opinions and other people I know too.

My cousins are very supportive and honesty with me. They will tell me if I'm doing anything girlie or gay, that's why I'm always asking their opinions on things b/c they will be honest with me.

What about people who know you but their not a friend you hang out with? Like someone that is helping you find a job or helping you with whatever? Their like a friend, but you don't hang out with them like a friend, ya know what I mean? Or are you talking about a complete stranger?

I keep getting told my nose is getting bigger and my arms look hairier. Not sure if they are insulting me or just saying...eh, whatever.

I will say that people who aren't around me much notice more. My gf sees me every day and the changes are so subtle it's hard to tell.

There is no way after two years on T you look EXACTLY the same. I think they're trying to ruffle your feathers and especially so if it gets a reaction out of you.

Yes. But that probably has more to do with my short hair etc.

The T changes are subtle, and I don't think even family would look closely enough to notice much.

Have heart! I don't really notice my own changes other than the obvious ones like voice and body hair. Oh, and less subcutaneous fat. I do my shots there so I'm not sure if that is a blessing or a curse. XD

I have some wellknown features so people who have seen me PreT can generally reconize me still,
but I have change mostly my famely comments on me being more hairy.

I only have contact with a small selection of my family but no they don't think I look any different. My sister acknowledges that my voice is much deeper but as far as she's concerned I still look exactly the same. She also says she can barely tell the difference when I am wearing a binder which is clearly nonsense.

I think it's difficult for family to see changes, for example whenever I picture my nephew he's a 7 year old annoying kid who breaks my stuff. In reality he's now 18 and in college

I have a full beard and short hair and I bet if you asked my mother she'd tell you I still look the same, and look like a woman.  I think when they see you every day they don't realize how much you have changed.  My brother told me I looked just like Dad.

Aside from obviously getting hairier (which is a bit hard to notice because BLOND), thicker eyebrows and muscle growth - easy to notice since I'm so scrawny - I think I might appear different because of the mental changes T has caused. Being more confident makes me carry myself differently.
Like when I said something about my social insecurity during the family meeting related to my transition process, my stepdad said he noticed that's gone.
