How often do you shower?

Ah, makes sense if they can't be bothered with school, which would explain how I haven't met any. Well, there was ONE, but I'm not even sure he was much of a gamer. He was just the undescribably repulsive guy who didn't help his cause by masturbating in music class.

I take a shower every morning. I tend to feel really dirty if I haven't taken a shower.
Sometimes I'll take a shower in the evening as well.

I can't stand going to bed without having had at least one shower that day.

Everyday, I don't like feeling "dirty" and if I don't take a shower one day I feel really icky.

When I am working in the lab with toxic stuff I shower every evening, otherwise less, I prefer looong bubble baths though

Once a day at least, mornings or nights depending on the amount of time available the next morning. Add an additional shower after evening gym, or any situation that has made me sweat.

I shower once per day as this gets me awake. I'm like a zombie before shower.

But since I learned that the body - mostly the skin - doesn't like too much of the soap or shower gel, I reduced using it. So every other day I'm just using pure water and nothing else.

I heard that it would be beneficial for the skin to just shower once a month or less. Okay, that's not really an option...

Actually, not showering causes rashes so going a month without a shower is not only stinky, it would be irritating to your skin. Showering too often can also cause rashes. I think that different people may need to shower more or less often than others. I also think men need to shower more than women. Every other day works for me unless I have an unusually sweaty day. I do wash up between showers though.

I'm kind of backward I guess... I used to shower as infrequently as I could get away with.  I just didn't care for, or about my body.  At all.  It was, no doubt, gender-related, but at the time I just put it down to not caring about much of anything.

Now that I've finally admitted to myself I've been female all along, and that I'm stuck with this body and will be making improvements in it (kind of like finding you can't sell a house, so you remodel instead of getting a new one) I've found myself taking *much* better care of myself.  While I don't like what I see "down there", I realize that that skin will come in very handy for eventual SRS, so I take good care of it, too. ;)

I can't wait for HRT... maybe the boob fairy will be kind to me and give me something to block my view of the nether regions. :)

So yeah, while the dysphoria is worse now, I'm showering nearly every day... although, if I can, I greatly prefer a bubble bath and dim light so I can relax, inhale glorious scents, and pretend for a while...

Daily, sometimes more than daily. The disgusting feeling I get on my skin beats the disgust I get when seeing myself naked.

In the bath is one of the few times I truly feel feminine with this body.

Bubble baths are great! Pre tranistion I did that really long with candles and herb oils and meditative music and I just pretended as well. Tucking in the bathtub was a good aid at that back then. Hehe - yeah - I remember at that time for the first time actually thinking about how it would be to be with a guy when I would be a girl. I was a teenager then. Weird - I never really did try that for real later on...

not one of my favourite activities but i have to shower daily, as it's a hot country and you'll smell like a pig if you don't. sometimes i skip a day or to when i don't have to go out. the basic reason i don't like having showers is that i don't like undressing part, i don't like undressing as a whole, getting down to the female undies is not very comforting. once under the shower i'd spend the whole day under it, as it's one of the few opportunities i get to be completely alone. i wouldn't tilt my head below 10 degrees above the horizontal though, except when i apply soap. also i always wear a pair of shorts when i shower. i get over the dysphoria by imagining all kinds of things, and often forget whether i applied soap or not.

Same here. I run through my mega bottle of soap/shampoo so fast because I can never remember where I put soap because I'm off dreaming in femme land.

I shower three times a week, but what I really enjoy is sitting in a roman tub with hot water all the way up to my neck and just meditating right there with the steam billowing around me. :icon_woowoo:

At least a short shower clean off after daily dilation, but I can use it to shave the remainder of remainders, and arm pits too.  Hair is one wash per week and a rinse out at half that.  As a postie, sitz baths once a week at least too.  Like the OP of this thread I did have eczema for years that made life miserable and showers kind of gross too, but that stuff cleared up a few years ago when a blood condition was found and treated, and then when I began HRT.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

This topic has been around for a while, so here's my contribution.

Normal shower, every day give or take, definitely for work.  Soap, shampoo, just cleaning up really.

When I'm dressing, I have the shower as a key rescue plan.  If anything goes wrong, like the wife or inlaws or kids unexpectedly returning home, I can be in that shower (which I keep running low through my dressing, along with a packet of makeup removers in there) in ten seconds.  Hear people coming, stuff all makeup into its box, wigs fold and put in the box, snap it shut, stuff under sink.  Clothes pulled off and into the same box.  I'll organize it later.  Then naked in the shower, I ramp it up to full and scrub my face until it's clear of makeup.  Not perfect, but it hides the makeup, the clothes, and puts me in the shower to finish up.

Gotta have a plan, right?

I'm a bit of a clean freak lol. I HAVE to shower daily, and when the water was included in the rent of my last apartment, sometimes it was twice a day. And I shampoo/condition daily as well. If I don't my hair gets really greasy. :( I don't mind it though except for how long it takes. Scrubbing with a facial cleanser, washing and rinsing my hair, scrubbin' mah bod', shaving (about once a week), then wringing my hair out, drying off, blow-drying, and brushing my hair. Takes anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. >.> Ugh, and then there's my brother. Showers once a week, 5 mins total. >.<

That brings fond memories from when I still lived with my parents - I used to fill the tub, "borrow" my sister's herb oils and other bath products (I especially like the bubbly stuff), and just completely escape this world for a while.

Then I'd take a shower, use masculine-smelling soap and shampoo, and make sure no traces of feminine scent was left, to avoid comments from my parents :( I'm increasingly amazed by the fact that I at the same time was in complete denial.

These days, I sadly don't have a tub. I shower every day before leaving home, because I simply hate the "man smell" I get when I don't. While still using masculine products to avoid suspicion (I won't be coming out for a long while yet), I prefer that smell over the "natural" smell. I also shower after going to the gym, which is usually twice a week.

a nice hot bath once a day...sometime with a bath bomb or salts and just drift off for a bit...love them during the winter!
