Just Ole Me

Ok so as soon as my blood work comes back again ill start HRT. I am MTF.
Question.....my whole life I have gotten erections very easily but also suffer from premature ejactulation. Seriously, I have never lasted more than 30 or 40 seconds during intercourse.

I have heard that HRT reduces libido and can slow the time to achieve an erection. Any other gurls out there had premature ejactulation in the past but had it go away after starting HRT?  I would think if libido is lower and takes more time to get my motor running that HRT might solve this problem  as well. I know my wife would appreciate it.

Thanks!

(From my own personal experience - may not be true for all) Give it two weeks, and the thing will hardly bother you any more.
I wouldn't guarantee it'll help you last longer, though.
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Can't speak from knowledge about the pre-e but I can definitely assure you HRT does affect libido - in my case, tremendously! Since I started HRT:

1. My interest in sex has been severely reduced; I went from sex 1-2 day to 1-2 a week. I love it! It's not weird either, you just sort of stop thinking about it after a couple weeks of hrt.

2. Random erections have disappeared... completely! Morning and any other time :D

3. Here's the part your wife may not like (my gf just thinks it's funny), at about month four it starting becoming very difficult to achieve and maintain an erection. Basically, I can't just say hey let's do it, instead I have to be worked into it. Just like I hear most cis women are.

4. Best part for you, at about month 5 now and there is no more ejaculation! I also find that I can continue after climaxing.

Lastly, again maybe bad for wife, everything has gotten smaller down there. My gf jokes that it's dying.

Sorry if TMI, just wanted to share my personal experience.

You will definitely notice your libido drop pretty fast, but there are some people who actually had their sex drive increase apparently. My genitalia in general has gotten much smaller as well and it is continuing to get smaller. I can still stimulate myself if I really want to, but it's strength and intensity for me is much weaker but I can do it much more often as well. Discharge is basically non-existent for me anymore, it's delayed afterwards and feels very different. So I hope this helps you somewhat, as a reference I have been on hormones for 4.5 months.

Thanks girls.  Excited to lose the random erections and loss of male libido (urgh its so annoying).

Michelle are you still able to still penetrate your g/f and give her that pleasure if she and you so desire?

My wife is ok with my changes but she really still enjoys penetration by me (but her still in charge so i can live with it) she will be disappointed if we lose that part of our sex lives so I am worried a little.  Personally other than that concern, I don't really care if "that" functions anymore.

Thoughts?

I had a problem with pre-e before, got a prescription for citalopram (anti-anxiety pill) and it increased the time from <2 mins to ~10 mins...both ex and I were happy about this.

Then came dysphoria, and I could NOT stand to be inside for ANY length of time...it literally creeped me out. After HRT I had no interest in "it" any longer, by the 2nd week all there was was clear fluid (normal amount), that diminished until about 3 months after to little more than a trickle.

Everyone is different though.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

As of right now, I can but it is definitely a challenge. This I think has a lot to do with the fact that my arousal and sex drive all seem to now be in line with a cis-woman's. That is, if she wants "sex" sex then we have to put a lot of time and foreplay in. Otherwise, no, I cannot.

Depending on your HRT doses you may not have these issues until a bit later than 5 months, idk. I just know that at my last med check (@ 3months) my doc doubled my e and so now I'm on the higher or highest dosage possible. After this increase is when I noticed things started to really change down there.

It's been different for me.

I was on finasteride for a month before starting estradiol. In that month, my libido decreased to about twenty percent of what it was before any meds. Before meds I could do it three or for times a day no problem. During that first month, morning erections also ceased.

However, when i started estrogen, my libido increased to about 50 percent of what it was pre hrt. Morning erections stayed away for a few months, but since about two months ago, random erections and morning ones started coming back. Libido is still at fifty percent, though.

I know the estrogen is still working as I'm getting more and more breast growth and softer everything... And i told my doctor and he doesn't seem concerned. Just weird I guess.

Anyone take cialis or the like to Erm overcome this?

sandrauk

Well I was never 3 times a day even in my younger days, more like 3 times a week, but although I would never say premature I tended to not be able to last very long without "breaks".

Nowadays (I'm 61), pre E, things were more like 3 a month but the duration was about the same even though sensation was much reduced.

After E, within a couple of weeks, erections became difficult but not impossible and are the same after 7 months on E. I last much, much longer.

Cialis works but makes me very lightheaded if I stand up.

I took one.. and then realised the issue was all in my head and have been perfectly functional ever since.

I've been on spiro for 7 months, estrogen for 6 months, and progesterone for 4 months- Here's what I've noticed:

1. Libido is greatly reduced and "different," but not gone. It's manageable now, which I realllly like. I used to have a sex drive that felt like it was absolutely out of my control, and I didn't exercise much self-control in terms of my sexual activity. That's totally different now, for the better.

2. No more spontaneous erections. Used to get those all the time.

3. It still "works," but it takes a lot more work.. although if my GF pays attention to my breasts I'm still ready to go fairly quickly :)

At this point, my GF and I still both enjoy using "it" in bed, so I'm happy I can still get an erection when I want to. We both understand that might not always be the case, and we're both ok with that. I've heard anecdotally that using it regularly helps keep it in "playing shape," if that is what you want.

...and yeah, I've thought the same thing Steph21 mentioned upthread- If I start having trouble getting erections, will something like Cialis help?
  •

kelly_aus

Like I said, Cialis helped for me.. But I've also realised that it was as much in my head as a real issue.

I do need to be 'warmed up' in ways that I never did before..

Getting warmed up is all part of the fun. I may not be on HRT, but recently because of thought processes and how I think now I actually have the same issue. It doesn't happen when I wish it to and this is just me by myself. It takes a bit of finesse and a lot of fantasizing and doing things I would never normally do.
