So I've obviously never done this before and I plan on it this summer when I finally go full time, but where do I go exactly to do this and what do I say? I honestly have absolutely no idea, thanks for the help again!

I just wander in to my local beautician and say "I need my brows waxed."

I used to get it done pre-transition too..

And even if I'm appearing as male, they won't ask any technical questions or anything? Probably sounds dumb, and thank you for replying!

Nope, never got any questions, as a male or female..

I did get charged more as a male though.. lol

  •

EmmaS

Are you serious? What was the price difference???
  •

kelly_aus

About $2 or $3....

I used to leave it a lot longer between visits..

EmmaS

Uhh, I've never done anything to mine, would they be considered long? I don't know how any of this works or if it will even help me pass haha

I get mine done about every 6 weeks first few times was as a guy.
Same as Kelly. I want my eybrows shaped. I then said I want them in a feminine curve. No issues.

After that I started having them tinted as well. No problems

It isn't an issue.

You are a customer. Just do it!

I think a nice, well shaped pair of brows is always a benefit. :)

Alright, thank you ladies :) I really appreciate it a lot, I feel confident to do this in a couple months! =)

Lots of people get it done male and female!

It really isn't and issue. It's like waxing. Guys and Gals get waxed, it's normal!

Ever seen a pro-wrestler with body hair?

Or a cyclist?

Or a body builder?

Emma - thanks for asking this question!  I actually woke up this morning thinking the same exact thing, and that I was going to ask.  You beat me to it.  I think you and I are at roughly the same points.  I also saw your post about growing your hair out.  I asked a coworker about the salon she goes to and talked about growing my hair out.  Her stylist specializes in long hair, and I am hopeful the appointment goes well. I will probably ask about eyebrows while I am there based on feedback from the group :)

I'm going to take the eyebrow plunge soon, I have forever had thick dark busy eyebrows and am going to go with just a reshape (still not out to people and a full femme reshape might just bring a bit of attention). Then again, who the hell would notice! Hahaha I think I'll see what the say they can do when I go in. I will have to post before and after pics when it happens!

Emma, your brows look just fine to me. I agree with muuu you can DIY. Just brush upwards and trim. It looks from your avatar all you'd need to do is pluck strays. They have a nice shape already.

I get mine done every few weeks, it's really no big thing I even go in there in guy mode and get them done, I just tell them "High and Thin" and they take care of the rest.

You find out quickly how little people care when you start doing things like getting your eyebrows done or shaving your legs. :o No one has said a thing to me! Well the fact that I'm 6"1 and look like quarterback might have something with that!

So, just out of curiosity, what would the effect be if I really was to go in and get my eyebrows shaped in a feminine way, even though I'm still just presenting as a guy in everyday life? Because I really have been thinking about this, and thinking about how my bushy eyebrows are still just a dead giveaway that I'm really a guy whenever I attempt "girl mode" in my mirror at home, but at the same time I'm really afraid that female eyebrows would just make me look really dumb in my everyday life as a guy.

What's everyone's experience with this? Because, again, I really want to have a decent "girl mode," and I'd love to have shaplier eyebrows, but since I'm not out to pretty much any of my friends and none of my coworkers at the moment, I'm afraid it would look weird.
