I wouldn't say I "hate" the word transsexual but when trying to explain who & what I am to small minded people it becomes a barrier to understanding.
Homosexual & Bisexual are terms to describe sexuality, sexuality is not gender related but being trans is in my eyes & mind. When speaking to open minded people I can use the term transsexual & they are fine with it but the narrow minded people can't see past the word sexual.

If i'm talking to someone who I think will have a problem understanding the difference between transsexual & transgendered then i'll switch to using the latter even though by modern medical terms I am transsexual due to my desire/need to become as fully female as modern science will permit

Let's review Rule #10

10. Bashing or flaming of any individuals or groups is not acceptable behavior on this web site and will not be tolerated in the slightest for any reason.  This includes but is not limited to:

Advocating the separation or exclusion of one or more group from under the Transgender umbrella term
Suggesting or claiming that one segment or sub-segment of our community is more legitimate, deserving, or more real than any others

I don't want to read any more "true transsexual" crap, or people not wanting to be associated with one group or another.

The last sentence is in bold.  It is important.  READ IT

It doesn't matter if a person is non-binary, like myself, non-op, post-op, pre-op, cross dresser, neutrois, pansexual, asexual, or any other flavor or color, they are equally deserve the support and respect of any other member here.

No one here should be denigrated because of who they are.
