What type of pain did you feel for the vaginoplasty? You know how there is different types of pain: blunt, burning, stabbing, throbbing, etc. What type of pain is it?

What's the intensity, the 1-10 scale. 1 is bearable, 10 is I'm so happy, but God kill me this pain hurts!

How long does it last?

Anyone try to survive it without pain meds? Is it possible?

For me, I'm not worried about the pain, I'm worried about the anesthesia:
1. What if I don't wake up?
2. What if they botch the anesthesia and I'm awake for the whole procedure?
3. And my biggest concern...I wake up but forever doubt reality. Like I don't believe I actually woke up. Its hard to explain. If you've ever had a bad acid trip, then that is what I would maybe call the closest to what I'm trying to describe. I have a really hard time with reality. I can't even drink because I lose touch with reality if I drank too much. I'll start doubting if things are real or not.

I don't know where you're having your surgery, so I don't know if your experience will be similar to mine, but I'll tell you what it was like. First of all, the sedation/anaesthesia included an epidural and "twilight sedation". I was not under general anaesthetic. I did wake up during the procedure at one point, looked around and said "I'm awake...", and was promptly put to "sleep" again. In the recovery room, it was 2 hours before I could feel my feet again. Afterward, I was mostly on regular-strength Tylenol. There was only one day when I took the Oxy, that was just before the stent came out.

Sitting was a "pain" for maybe 3 months or so after.

I am glad this was asked as I was curious as well, when I have my surgery this month I will tell you more about the pain, that is if I notice, as I pretty much have pain  24/7 do to other issues, and thanks to that I have an unlimited supply of hydrocodone, or stronger if I need, plus other stong stuff that I use in combination with.

HI Calico, I understand your concerns, You will not wake up In the Middle of the Op The Anesthetist that DR Chettawut has been with him for a very long time they also use an Epidural no problems there Either He Is an Expert at doing them, You will not feel any pain for Quite some time & when you do It will not be that bad I'm not saying It wont hurt but It will be okay, In month 2 -3 when things really start to knit together you might Depending on your body  feel Sharp pulses of pain & If the normal pain relief does not work & you will know It Is called Neuropathic pain & It Is very Sporadic, They use Anti Depressants for that as normal pain relief does not generally work. Do Not worry take It as It comes you will be fine If you don't wake up after the Op you are not going to worry as you will not know. You will be Fine.

Best Regards
