How 'bout a thread to mention the "good triggers" and simple little things that make us smile once in awhile as we go about our lives.

Here are a few things that give me comforting feelings in a world that could use them for sure,

I like when my ponytail rubs on the back of my neck when I turn my head or the wind blows,

I like seeing my shadow when I am wearing a skirt or dress :)   (my shadow always passes btw)

I love looking in my closet and drawers and seeing pink, purple, orange, lace and satin and cute girl clothes where there was once manly flannel shirts and and boring "boy disguise" stuff

What are some of yours?

I like the building materials that I hoard.

Just yesterday I purchased enough limestone to build a house (seriously... it came from a house that was demolished) off of craigslist for a song... pretty neat stuff - fossil embedded, and originally left over from the building of the Schleicher County Courthouse in 1924.

I have also amassed a considerable amount of redwood that came from thingsneedingtoberebuilt around our house (i.e. fence and gazebo): One pass through the planer and that stuff is pretty as heck!

I've got about 400 bd. ft of Black Walnut... 200 bd. ft. of Cherry... 46 old windows from a farmhouse... onandonandon...

Anyway - that stuff makes me happy (for whatever reason).
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.

Peky, I knew there was a reason I like you here ;)

Sadie, that's good stuff! Re-purposed materials are the way to go!

Nice thread Michelle.

Here's mine. .....

The smell of fresh nail polish.

Buying makeup.

Missing hair after electrolysis.

Fashion magazines from my gay cousin.

Putting on a bra and top the morning.  (Making sure not to look too closely at the mirror)

Brushing my hair, and banding it in a ponytail.  (Making sure not to look too closely at the mirror)

Shopping the Walmart clearance rack.  Did it today and the Walmart associate (a woman) looked at the long white sweater I had picked out, then smiled and said  "For you?  It's nice."   Yes, we had another surpisingly pleasant exchange once before.

Letting my hair down and night, then brushing it out.  Just did that.

Getting ready for bed and putting on my night shirt. - Watch out Kathy, don't look in the mirror!  Wow that was close.

Good night girls. Pleasant dreams.

The comfort of a clean, well decorated house.

The way my skin feels when I'm laying in bed, especially my feet moving against my calves.

How I don't stink to hell and back when I break a sweat.

How I look with a top that hangs off one shoulder.

When my brother complains that there is too much estrogen in the room when me and his fiancee get together.

That I can let happy tears flow without people looking at me like I'm crazy.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

The feel and smell of makeup

The smell of nail polish and remover

Soft, clean-shaven skin

The hug and tightness of a bra

Wearing tight jeans

Fashion magazines, especially when they have the perfume samples. More especially the ones for men- they make me melt.

Crying at movies

Having emotions :)

Getting home after a long day and having a quiet moment to relax on my soft, cool doona with my dog Sputnik at my side. Finding something new about a thing I see every day. Being in a great mood for no apparent reason.  Oh, and breaking a stupid rule!

The tactile sensation of my Kobo Glo E-reader. I fudging love that thing, lol.

The smell of my boyfriend in contrast to my own scent!

The smell of a cracked-open book.

The glow of candlelight and the fragrance of incense.

THE SMELL OF MY OWN BAKING!!!! :D

To be honest, a lot of things actually do make me happy! I do not think that there is much to bring me down, even when I am in the shiz!

Oh, and a beautiful, aromatic cup of herbal tea. :)

dressing up and looking in the mirror. I glow. I'm happy.

It's my own secret looking glass to wonderland.

CHOCOLATE ICE-CREAM! Ok, sorry for the caps, but that deserves it. I'll do any amount of exercise to offset eating it! :D

The way I smell each day after a nice shower and some body moisturiser.

Pulling on and taking off stockings over my soft and usually hairless legs.

Sleeping with Melanie, my teddy bear.

Tight jeans.

As per OP, feeling my hair on the back of my neck.

The first glimpse of myself in a reflection when in girl mode

I was going to simply say 'life'. Actually, I think I'll stick with that.

I have the life I should always have had and someone to share it with..

How my jeans make my legs look. Nice cool breeze. Snowfall. Brisk air hitting my lungs. Tailoring clothes. A little sherry with the smell of ink on paper. The funny look my cats give when I laugh randomly at my computer.
Watching the birds made me feel like taking a journey. The people, the landscapes, everything was imperfect but beautiful.

Look and feel of cleanly shaven legs.

Feeling the perfect curve of my fingernails.

Tingling feeling in my breasts reminding me estradiol is at work.

The still amazing, surprising feeling of a full bodied orgasm.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I enjoy the swishy feeling of a skirt when I walk.

The smell of my hair after I use my strawberry scented conditioner.

I love the feel of putting on lipstick and the way it smells.

I enjoy going shopping and trying on new clothes and seeing the real me reflected in the mirror.

I like walking around with my wife and having the door held for us and being addressed as ladies.

ZoeM

Right now, this thread. When the dog bites! When the bee stings! When I'm feeling sad...

I like my birds, fussy as they are.

To repeat some others' notes, the feel of shaved legs. :)

Catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror without looking too close.

Capercaillie.

My voice, when I get it just right.

Getting called "miss" or "ma'am" over the phone never gets old.
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Oh, thank you Michelle, so nice.  I am happier now.  Even on my bad days.

God, how could I have forgotten the orgasm one.  And my dumb uncontrolled laughter afterwards.
