"A hearing on two gay marriage bills that began at 4:47 Thursday afternoon didn't end until 4:57 Friday morning, lasting an unprecedented 12 hours. Some 461 people had signed up to testify Thursday, with many lining up hours ahead of time and filling the halls and rotunda of the R.I. State House."

Those who spoke voiced opinions that ranged from the " 'cosmic battle between God and Satan' " according to State Sen. Harold Metts, and Wendy Becker who spoke of her family " 'Our family, our relationship will not destroy the fabric of society. Indeed, we are the fabric of society.' " Others expressed concern that soon polygamy and incestuous marriages will be allowed next, others take on an economic perspective by arguing that allowing gay-marriage removes a barrier that is set up to LGBTs who want to move and work in RI.

I have to say, I am definitely not voting for Harold Metts after reading his views, especially when he was discussing how the LGBT movement shouldn't tag along to the African American civil rights movement by saying "I can change my sexual preference tonight if I want to, but I can't change my color." Sure, I'd like to see him change his sexual preference. Try Harold. :D
