Mohini

I guess I'll be going to temple this week. It is Sri Chaitanya's Appearance Day (or Gaura Purnima), and thus one of the holiest days of the year.

I have my purple sari that I hope to decently put on again. Sometimes I have a difficult time going to temple (and trust me - I go there once in a blue moon because of the prejudice and backlash I've received before), since half of the people ignore me, and the other half actually appreciate me as the girl I am.

Tuesday is the big day! I am somewhat excited!

Kia Ora Sita,

If you 'think' it will go well, it will go well...I'm sure you'll enjoy Tuesday...

That was me, lol.

I didn't actually have a good time there. Seeing some old friends was nice, but it was also hurtful when other people just greeted me briefly and then moved on. Some saw me, and then also looked away. There is a lot of pain for me, because the Hindu community in general is very conservative due to the carry on of Victorian standards, despite the fact that transgender and transsexual people have been existing in Vedic times since for ever.

I converted myself, changed my legal name to a Hindu one, and dedicated myself to Hindu Dharma. And yet, some people in my own community still to this day approach me concerning my transition, and their 'concern for my spiritual life'.

I still love God, and I know that Krishna loves me, no matter where I go. I just need to move on with my life.

Kia Ora Rahel,

Well I guess it all turned out for the best...You seemed to be happy with your new(or should I say renewed) belief ...
