After letting my hair grow a little, I decided to have my hair cut in a shortish feminine style today. You should have seen some of my work colleagues's faces today when I walked back into work!  :o. Some said " Your hair looks like a woman's hair!" I just said, so what. Most complimented me though. Today was the first step towards coming out at work. It's time. I have received lots of encouragement from my colleagues who know that I am trans. My boss's wife, who is also our HR department, now also knows about me and she also encourages me. WOW, I am so stoked. She said that she will "gently" tell her husband (my boss) about me.

Have any of you done something like this?

Congrats Maegan! That is great that you took such a good step and you have so much support.

I started changing little things about 7 months before going full time. I changed my hair, my clothing style, and even my voice. By the time I came out at work, the only thing I had to change to go full time was to put on makeup, and quite binding my chest, well, that and they learned my new name. I think that made it a lot easier on my coworkers.

What did you said to the person who cut your hair?

Thats really awesome Maegan  ;D, I am so happy for you.
I love your 'so what' reply to your not so pleasant collegues. It can actually be
quite funny seeing peoples reactions when you let them know that you really don't give a F*** what they think.
Keep it up!!

Sort of...

I was going to be outed so I pre-emptied the "outing" by going to my immediate supervisor...so, I transitioned and "outed" slowly, funny I went RLE 24/7 before HRT...

So, yeah, memories are sweet...

Congratulations on your courage and on having an understanding work environment...

Good Luck!!

I just said, "I'd like you to cut my hair in a short feminine style. Which style do you suggest?". She was very nice about it and gave me some options and made some suggestions as well.

Thanks for all the support girls. Now, for the next step. :P

Congratulations, Maegan. I came out at my place of worship last June. It was time. I was received and embraced warmly  :) by my church family. It was a life changing event for me and my wife.

Congrats Maegan.

I sort of started off slowly and didn't tell anyone, but after awhile  I found myself wearing female clothing, shoes, polished nails, pierced ears and realised that I looked pretty daft as a guy, so just turned up as me and I think people guessed

I was expecting female prices, but I paid male prices. Funny. Must be because I was in boy mode.

Thanks to all the other ladies for the kind words.
