How much can I expect to be able to change my voice?

Yeah, I know this is a kinda hard question to answer and that the answers are likely to be something like 'it depends' but I figured I'd ask anyways.

I'm just starting my transition (first hair removal a week ago, hopefully starting on hormones in about a week) and I know that voice isn't something I should neglect so I did some basic research today. On the one hand I've always felt as though my voice is slightly higher than average for a male (like, I'd say it's higher than 60% of men or something) but just doing a quick analysis of my voice it seems like I have a pitch that's pretty much in the dead center of the male range which is discouraging. Honestly I don't feel a need to have a really high, girly girl voice, I just want a passable one. Put it this way--when I'm done I'd be totally fine with being described as having a 'husky' or 'sultry' voice (like Kathleen Turner) as long as it was read as female.

So just as a ballpark estimate, how much can I expect to be able to change my voice if I'm starting with an average male voice? Is an average female voice achievable or only a deeper than average voice or what?
