Two more things regarding dilation/packing removal:
1) Packing removal: for me, it didn't hurt at all. Dr Suporn packs with loose gauze, not so much to stretch things but to keep things in place, I think, and it came out like the handkerchief out of a clown's breast pocket... not pleasant, but more oogy. I might add, that five-7 days after SRS, I was still hopped up on a ton of pain meds...can't recall if morphine still or not (prolly tapering off by then but I can't recall) but definitely hard core pain meds like Tramadol. That'll dull the pain of any drain/packing removal too...
2) Dilation has been fine for me, sitting upright was the pain in the arse.

What I've done I cannot recommend but it worked for me... since I'm in a monogamous (well, polyfidelitous) relationship with gay girls, I didn't really need to worry about a large diameter vagina, so I basically got myself through the tough stuff using the small diameter for depth and to help lube things up, then the medium. Tapered off to once a day at five months. Didn't touch the big one (34mm) when the going got hard (2 months or so) until last week. Well, guess what? Now that dilation is comfy with the medium, after only a week of painless trials, the big one goes in almost to full depth (6 inches). Meaning, maybe when things get so painful you wanna die even with the medium (2-4 months depending), don't feel bad if you only maintain with the medium (32mm).... as long as you don't lose depth, width apparently is easy enough to regain. Just my experience, tho... and if you need that larger diameter sooner because of a boyfriend etc, well then good luck!
