Hello ladies,
I haven't been around much lately because my brother has Hepatitis C and got liver cancer because of it. He's been waiting for a liver for 2 1/2 years. I took him to the local hospital six weeks ago tomorrow to drain the fluid in his liver and he's been so very sick since the third day I've been going to the hospital almost daily. I'd been eating at fast food places and gained fifteen lbs. from 162 to 177 in a month. He was transferred to Cedars Sinai Hospital 16 days ago and the drive is torture. He got the transplant ten days ago and his body rejected it. Now he has infections in his lungs and lower intestines. I got a cold just before his transplant so I couldn't be there till yesterday, but at least I ate better and could rest. I took the first photo about two days after I persuaded him to go to the ER, at around 162, the second one two weeks ago, after I'd ballooned to 177., all in my stomach, and last night, after I'd lost 8 of it. The last two were taken just before taking off my makeup and just flopping on the bed. I'm hoping someone tells me I don't look as exhausted, scared and depressed as I've been. And please pray for my brother if you pray. His name is Steve Thomson. Hugs, Mira

I see a beautiful woman.
And I'm sorry your brother is suffering, and that you have to deal with the pain that comes about when someone you love dearly is sick.
My father had to have a liver transplant as well a couple of years ago. There were complications, and things looked dim for a while, but he pulled through.
I really really hope that your brother will pull through as well. It's amazing what true love for your family can accomplish though. My heart's with you right now Miranda, please don't hurt too much.
*Hug*

God bless you Miranda, you and your brother will be in my thoughts and prayers. Don't worry about the weight gain, it's stress related and will go away when things get back to normal. Love your sweet face dear, keep us posted as you are able.

Kyh, Shantel, and Lallie, I thank you for your kindness and prayers, and I apologize for my tardiness in giving you my thanks and the latest news. Our prayers must be working! It's now been 16 days since his transplant, which his body rejected. His pneumonia and intestinal infections improved, but it seemed something new would pop up daily. He was put back on the transplant list on Tuesday, then taken off on Thursday. The committee felt he was no longer a viable candidate but I received a call last night from the kidney transplant doctor, who told me that not only was Steve back on the list, he was now going to receive a kidney as well. They have taken his body's refusal to give up into account, plus the fact that he has a loving family to take care of him once he comes home as big factors too. So now we're just waiting for a liver and a kidney. Thanks again, ladies, for your prayers, your kindness, and your friendship. And your compliments. I've lost another 2 lbs. God bless you all and Huge Hugs, Mira
