I'm so impatient, I can't stand that awkward shaggy growing out phase. There's a reason my hair's never grown much longer than this since the ninth grade and I'm not much of a long hair person anyway, I don't look like me when it gets too grown out :/ and it might look well kept but I really don't do much with it besides washing it and brushing Also, my hair gets really curly, I don't know that I could pass if it was longer :/ I'll probably get the back and sides cut shorter, I do want to try and leave length on top, otherwise it would just look too clean cut and that's not how I roll 

And also, polos seem to suit you. Looks good 

Then go for the cut .  Go with whatever works for you, I was just being sure that you knew you had options.  I really do flatten mine so I feel your pain with regard to curly hair.  My brother has really curly hair but he wears it fairly long and he really suits it.  And he kinda embellishes it for the messy look - he's quite the lady's man .  So it could have worked long but it seems you're like me, you like short hair!  It's so much easier to manage too, eh?

I feel you with the whole idea that you do nothing with your hair and it just goes and looks well kept!  When my hair was long as a kid I wouldn't even bother drying it with the hairdryer and then it would do its little wave thing and would look extremely feminine and looked like I'd spent hours drying and brushing it to get the look.  I was the envy of many a girl unfortunately!  Lol.

So it seems the polo is a thumbs up  I may have to go back and get some more then!  Can't believe I can get away with polos now, it's opening up my options for the summer instead of always wearing an open shirt over my tees.

Seth:  I second Zarathoustra, you are definitely cute and with the way you're being "funny" in the last one and hiding your face, is this maybe because you're a little worried still about passing straight on?  If this is the case, I don't think you should worry as the combination of all the pics still suggest a pass to me.  Have confidence .

Messy hair usually helps when it comes to passing, and your definitley passing here imo  The good thing about short hair is even when it's "messy" it never looks ridiculous or over the top, just like a style choice

Hmm, your voice doesn't really pass, but you can make it sound more masculine by trying to talk from your chest and by using less emphasis. Try testing out by yourself, until you can feel the vibration of your voice in your chest. And in general, talking in more monotones will make for better passing. That one is just socialization and gets the best of me too if I don't pay attention :/

So I got my haircut 





I was feeling good about it, then I had a pretty horrible misgendering about a half hour after, so I'm a little shaken up

I like the haircut Darkflame, I think you're probably having more trouble passing with it though is because you have such a soft face and small skull in comparison to cisguys. I think you look fine in photo 1, but I can see how you wouldn't pass so well in photo 2. Having more hair in the other photos made your head look bigger; though I think you pass better with the shorter hair than the longer hair so I have no idea why you're getting misgendered more now with the haircut than before.

Darkflame: maybe some product-induced spikiness/messiness would help. My haircut is the type where if I do nothing to it, it screams female (to me), but with some paste it gets me by pretty well.

I actually have wax on the longer top part of my hair  I don't know if it's that I'm getting misgendered more, it's just the way that it happened was pretty brutal  gonna have to stick to my hat strategy  (I say it like it's a bad thing but I actually like wearing hats  ) I wonder how much my face and head will masculinize. I don't think the actual skull structure changes, so I'm pretty much doomed to having a small head I think  in the meantime I think it'll get better once it grows out a tiny bit, like just enough that my head gets camoflauged. Maybe I'll use wax or gel on the sides too, see what that looks like.

You look pretty good, being your age you'd look good in a baseball cap anyway, most guys would wear one 24/7 if they could.

yea i usually wear hoodies and everything but most of my friends that know are very understanding. unfortuntely, im only turning 16 next month so im stuck for 2 more ungodly years :/
