Tonight's the night !

in just under two hours NZ is set to become the 13th country to legalise same sex marriage...Supporters  are confident they have the numbers for the bill to be past...

The bill passed... 77 to 44 : Same sex couples will be able to 'tie the knot' in August ...

Great news from across the ditch.  Pity our pollies can't get their finger out, although the  Tasmanian is looking at the reintroduction of a Bill soon.

A must see video clip the NZ National party's Maurice Williamson speech in support of the Marriage equality bill.... [National is NZ's equivalent to the Republican or Conservative parties]...A very brave speech considering the party he belongs to...It was also amusing...

it was a very happy day.
and i hope that this move inspires other countries to follow our lead.
as a young New Zealander i am very that MPs who i am normally very critical of made a stand against discrimination.
it was also great to see the unity among the youth wings of the respective political parties.

I forgot to add the special Maori love song that was sung...

With the passing of the bill, supporters stood up and sang this beautiful song of love...Even those who opposed the bill joined in...

Pokarekare Ana is a traditional Maori love song.
