Cassie 4 Ever!!!

Hello everyone,

I am just starting my MTF journey and transition, I am pre HRT and have just begun therapy sessions with my therapist, but I would like some closure on a few things. I am 25, soon to be 26 by the time I start HRT, and I wanted to know what kind of "mileage" I might be able to expect. I'm not on any hormones or T-blockers right now, but I am waiting for my HRT letter.

so, I am 5' 11'', currently I weigh 195 pounds, Im not ripped but very fit as I am a 200 and 100 butterflier on my swim team, so I am not fat at 195 Lbs. People say I look really like a guy, but when I dress up, I always see a woman there. :-) I have broad shoulders from swimming, I think I have a huge back and maybe again, that is from swimming. Thankfully, I have no adams apple, and my voice is high enough to sing with Shania Twain naturally without much effort. I have body hair every where and I have to shave all the time.

I have looked around, and I see so many differences in what people experience, and some say that this happens while others say the opposite or say that HRT wont affect something. Thanks.

Here are some photos.

Me as a guy and this is pretty close to what I look like now,

And two photos of my face. I know they aren't the best but these are all I have,

Really, my main concern is really simple, will HRT make me look like a normal woman visually. My fear is that I will still look like a dude. I would really like to know what affects you think might, or will happen based on previous experience.

Again thank you.

i know hrt will girl you up quite a bit hun. your around my height. dont worry its easy to tell your going to look great. plus you have the younger age on your side. and if your ever unhappy with minor things in your face like bone structure you can have ffs just for that as hormones dont change that anyways. its what i did. ;)

Starting at 26, with that face?  You'll do great hon ;D
I'm 33 and 4.5 months on HRT and I think things are going all right.
I was 175lbs when I started HRT and I'm now 150.
I was a bit concerned about my shoulder width (rock climbing)  but I've become comfortable with the fact that there is nothing wrong with a girl who has a strong body.  Plus the lack of testosterone means you will loose muscle mass no matter what.
If you're going in search of the "perfect" female figure, I'm going to say competitive butterfly is probably not the way to go, but that's a compromise Cis girls have to make too :)
Hope that helps set your mind at ease some.
Again, you'll do great :)

Honey I was 58!

You look great now and will develop into a very attractive young woman. You also have a nice head of hair so you can grow that out and get styled and it will look gorgeous.

Hugs and enjoy the journey and keep positive.

Yeah, you'll do fine.

I can sort of relate in that I swum (butterfly too), during my teens and bulked up quite a bit.  I started HRT at 27 and trust me the muscles and broad shoulders will drop away in a year or so.  I'm only 5'7" though, but still, you'll do great.  I was the same in the voice and throat department too and had no troubles.

Thank you all so much!! I do feel better. I am sure it is normal to wonder and worry if you will fit in afterwards. I just see all these women, and I envy them, and wish I was them or had their bodies. Someday soon. :-)

Yeah. It is normal. Every girl wonders what she will be like after she grows up. Remember 13 going on 30

Actually, I never saw that movie, perhaps I should watch it.

Tristan

You should. It's cute and it reminds you that everyone feels that way at some point

You should do fine. I started HRT at 25, 6'0" 175lbs... now 3 years later I'm 5'11" 165 lbs. with 6% body fat and still work out like crazy and continue to lift weights. HRT tends to thin out most males. Bulk from the top moves to the bottom. Don't worry too much about looks, as they do have importance at times and who doesn't want to look good, but make sure you will be happy with the long term decision. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the ride. HRT + Time = Magic.  8)

@kasihnya: I agree with everyone else's comments.  You pass pretty well now, and I have no doubt that HRT will yield great results for you.  You are very pretty IMHO.  ;)

I start Monday with HRT and have brushed up on my endocrinology books. The good news is your face will change. Fat redistribution starts around the eyes, followed by the cheeks. The first effect to expect with HRT is with your skin. It gets smoother and softer as you pores shrink. The skin also becomes more translucent and begins to smell a bit sweeter. Over all, as your skin tightens, you'll look softer without the sharp angles that come with being a man. If your lucky, you'll get more on the hips, and butt. Expect a rounder, more female form as your waste shrinks...if your thin and it looks like you are.

Hair loss should stop, and you'll lose much of you torso and lower extremity hair. You have a beautiful face, but expect to need electrolysis to rid your self of the beard.

Breast size may improve, with an A or B cup. Some transwomen get much more without having to have breast implants. Keep in mind with implants, less is definitely, more.

Feminization facial surgery is a good idea, given women have a pointed chin, versus a man's square chin. Eyebrows should be lifted, and the forehead ground down a bit.

Good luck! Your beautiful and young...

Mushroom, don't be deterred by height.  Two of my three daughters are nearly 6 feet tall.  We have one FtM member here who is 6' 6".

You will do fine.

I had a much worse starting point than that.

You will love the fellings & effects of HRT. I've just renewed & the very pleasant feelings are great. It makes me feel so calm & comfortable with myself. Luckily my breasts have already reacted, my nipples are so sensitive, it feels great.  Good luck young girl, you will do just great.
