As most of you probably know Tehran is the world capital for sex change. I was wondering if anybody has gone to Iran for sex change. I found a very interesting doctor who does sex reassignment especially impressive results for F2M transsexuals.

Kia Ora Tristan,

When it comes to gender reassignment surgeries,Thailand takes the title of the world's capital, but Iran is a close second...

I wonder how many of you are also aware that if you are non-op or unable to undergo surgery immediately then you are regarded as your biological sex, treated as a homosexual or transvestite for which you can be sentenced to death.

Iran is currently the second highest executioner in the world with someone being put to death on average every eight hours.

Two years ago Boxing Day I responded to an execution alert from United4Iran concerning two brothers who had wrestled with an intruder to their farm. In the fight they inadvertently pulled the intruder's jeans down over his waist.

Despite sending e-mails over two days the brothers were both hanged publicly for homosexuality in January the following year.

I would therefore firstly suggest that people do a bit more research before making such claims and secondly think long and hard about promoting Iran as any sort of capital for the transgendered.

Kia Ora Stella,

I don't think anybody's saying that Iran is a 'great' place to be trans- however according to Iran's Islamic law, transsexualism is covered under the law... It's legal to change ones sex, plus from what I gather the surgeons there perform hundreds of surgeries a year...Hence Iran being only second to Thailand when it comes to reassignment surgeries...

The sad part is many 'homosexuals' who fear for their lives also opt to having reassignment surgery...

BTW In apartheid South Africa, the SA military also use to force gay conscripts into having reassignment surgery...

Okay, let me try this another way, okay?

A fur coat looks good and keeps me warm in cold weather. However you cannot have a fur coat without hundreds of small animals being killed.

Coming back... I'd like to think I'm able to complete my transition without the expense of human misery, suffering or death.

Additionally Iran is not Thailand. Sure they may do sex reassignment surgery quickly and at affordable rates, but think of the risks involved. Think about the risks you take when you try to enter Iran having a Western passport. That is, if they allow you to enter.

Iran is not a particularly safe place to travel to.

Therefore I repeat - think long and hard before promoting Teheran as a sex reassignment surgery capital.

yeah i can see your point. every time we went they did remind of of the rules there and how they can be. even know we were invited on several occasions we did have to fallow there rules and they did reserve the right to keep us. it was scary at first but they did treat us really well and i would think only show us the good things.

dangerous place for westerns & women!
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

I would not even consider of traveling to Teheran! Not pre-op, not post-op, not ever.

Sorry to say, but I fear Arabic countries, when I don't fit their idea of average being.

Kia Ora Stella,

I think we're both on the same page when it comes to the Iranian governments appalling human rights record...

However......

No one is 'promoting' Iran as the place to go for surgery, they/we are just 'stating' the 'fact' Iran performs lots of surgeries on both M2Fs and F2Ms...Second to Thailand...

From what I gather, the OP was just asking about a particular Iranian surgeon who performs F2M surgery...Bearing in mind  F2Ms do not have as much choice as M2Fs when it comes to surgeons...

I personally have no right to 'judge' a person's choice of surgeon or which country they choose to have their surgery in...

It's also important for people not to judge all Iranians by the actions of their government...

Well whaddya know.... There's me thinking that this place is an internet message board where anyone can come and share their thoughts and feelings freely..

However if I'm going to be lectured on how to interpret other posts and what to post I can sure find other ways of spending my time elsewhere.

Have fun folks... it's been nice knowing you and all that..

Most MTF who have their SRS done in Teheran end up with lousy results.

Iranian MTF have their SRS done in Thailand, if they can afford it.

Kia Ora Stella,
It was not my intention to try and censor you, you have every right to your opinion just as I do...

I was just pointing out a little known fact that Iranian surgeons have performed many reassignment surgeries, I was not advocating people should go to Iran for surgery...

It would be a shame to see you leave over such a trivial matter as this, plus I've read some of your other posts and have found them quite interesting and educational...

My apologies for any misunderstanding that has arisen...Hope you reconsider...

But if you still intent to leave I wish you all the best on your journey...

That is another thing that could get you in trouble there.  Persians resent being called "Arabs."
