I think I may of developed this since getting home, after dilation just a bit ago I was cleaning myself up and well, I noticed bit of blood, well I looked and I see the chunk of flesh that kinda looks like a tonsil it is a lil floppy and is bleeding a little, I'm not sure if this is granulation tissue or not  :-\ it right in the entrance to my vagina so, I don't think I can avoid bothering it because od dilation..  :-\ I am a little worried and not sure what to do, there really isn't any pain, but the blood thing is concerning...

If it helps, Brassard's nurses told me granulation tissue would look "like a raspberry." I second the recommendation to have a doctor take a look just to be on the safe side, though.

yeah you could take a picture or video it and send it to your surgeon and if your still worried go see your gyno girl. i thought i had an issue and did those two things first and everything was fine :)

I am going to do this, and get with my doc asap  :-\ I am having no pain dilating at all, I would almost refer to this like a polyp, its about pea size maybe a lil larger, and seem very connected to my body though it moves around when I cleaned it with betadine q-tip

Mine's about marble sized! And despite what medical literature say, it sting and hurt like hell...I can't even walk properly

Put lots of lube during dilation and avoid friction...otherwise it can get bigger or more...

Talk to your doc first to get approval... But I've had good luck with 1% hydrocortisone cream (ie Cortizone 10) properly healing granulation tissue. I've had silver nitrate treatments before for another skin issue... they burn like fire. I can only imagine using one of those sticks down there.  :-X

Thanks for the advice, I will ask her when I see her which will be at the end of this month, I am not sure about effectiveness however since it is no exactly on the outside  :-\  yup fun stuff...

it hasn't healed it "might" heal, haven't tried cortisone or ointments yet  and it just inside the vagina not inside deep, but basically at the front door inside.  :-\

Mine was both external and 2 small spots internally. I just put some hydrocortisone cream on a q-tip and swabbed it... being sure to cover the granulation areas completely with the cream. My doc told me to do this twice a day... and most everything healed up in about 2 weeks +/-.

How long did it take to heal? Just wondering if it's the hydrocortison or time that healed it. Where did you have the granulation tissue if I may ask?

The internal area was right inside the canal... the area where the canal joins the external skin... that circular junction. I also had a small spot outside in the middle of an incision that had healed up at both ends... but the middle was being stubborn. I didn't have a lot... but the cream seems to have healed 90% of it. Depending on the amount/size of granulation tissue, you might want to give it a shot.

Sometimes it really does go away. My doctor (local GP, not the surgeon) explained that granulation tissue is a natural part of wound healing, and it's only when the healing process stops at that point instead of progressing to the last stage (where the granulation tissue gradually turns into normal healthy skin) that it's a problem. So "wait and see" makes sense if it's not clearly past that point yet, and probably lots of women are lucky enough to see the healing continue normally and the granulation tissue fade away.

I know I had some tiny spots, none of which hurt or stuck out, and within a couple weeks they'd finished healing into scars.

No burning at all. Mine is in the opening of the vaginal cavity, no-where near the spot where I would pee

Question to those who had or have granulation tisse at the vaginal opening: did it burn when you peed?

No burning here either.

I did not, it seems, have granulation tissue, but it did burn when I urinated.  The cause was a yeast infection which cleared up once my gyno saw what it was and put me on an anti fungal cream, as well as a one shot pill.

Yeah, I've got this too (2mo+1wk post). I saw a gyno and she treated the biggest one (just inside the canal) with what I assume is silver nitrate. It stung for a couple hours, but it wasn't so bad. It helped a lot, but there are other spots. I'm really glad for this thread, though (she noted that I have some granulation tissue, but didn't explain that *this* is what it is).
