Dear All,

My name is Laura and I am 37 years old. I commenced my transition last year in February at the Ghent Gender Team, Belgium. My coming-out was quite stormy and my parents-in-law kicked me out, but after all the very majority of my friends, family members and colleagues accepted my expression as a woman.

Already as a toddler I was playing and dreaming to be a girl and this compelling thought never left me. Because I've been raised by a mad mother, I had a very low self-image and no self confidence at all. Therefore I was extremey frightened to come out. But completely in dire straits, I went last year the Gender Team, with one request: let me transition!

I am currently still married with the most fantastic woman on earth. Because we are some spiritual and transcedental unity we aim to remain together, although we don't have sex with each other and we are both heterosexual.

19th November 2012 was the first day of my RLE, and from then I moved very rapidly forward with an FFS on 11th March by dr Bart Van De Ven, a 2nd one booked for 5the June together with a breast augmentation, and as last procedure my SRS at Thailand by dr Suporn's on 20th November 2013.

I realise I am very lucky to transition quite easily but many people don't see the energy I've spend to get it all right, or the small issues I daily meet because of my transwomanhood.

I've got a blog which is from March in English. Prior to this month, all postings are in Dutch but feel free if you would like to know more.

The reasons for registering on this discussion board are:
1. I would like to get more information about the SRS at dr Suporn's
2. As I have some degree of experience about coming-out, transitioning, hormones, FFS and speech therapy, I would like to share this with newbies.

Best Wishes,

Laura

Hi, Laura,

You seem to be so lucky to have such a wonderful and accepting spouse.
I do not transition, and my wife does not care whatever I wear, except for too bold clothes.

Just do it.

Hi Laura, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 11036. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Sounds like you are well on your way.
