Turn a Reel Magik into an STP?

Just a question, has anyone here bought the basic reel magik packer and then converted it into an STP? I love the realistic look, the price is good too but I want it to be an STP. I know with regular silicon ones you can just thrust a hot steel rod through to melt a hole so you can add tubing but I'd like to know this will work with the reel magik before I invest in one.

I created an STP hole in my RM basic in the same way that you describe above.  However, it was a lot harder to do.  The heat probably doesn't help much, as silicone has such a high melting point, and the density/weight of the material makes the hole barely noticeable when there is nothing to hold it open.  I wound up using the hole to insert a DIY flex rod instead of STP tubing for this reason.  I would say that if you are interested in a usable hole, use a drill.  This website seems to be a pretty good resource on modifying silicone products in this fashion:

Here are their tips on drilling into silicone, just in case the site goes down:

Tip 1: If you want to drill a hole in soft silicone, you should use an oversized spade or Forstner bit. Spade and Forstner bits cut grooves around the circumference of the hole before the main body plunges, thus making a much cleaner hole than a regular spiral bit ever would. I can pretty much guarantee disappointment if you try to do this with a regular spiral bit. The example shown at right is a cheap spade bit, attached to an extender because it was used on the infamous "Bam" dildo, which is huge (more than a foot long).

Tip 2: The choice of bit will affect the amount of oversizing you want to do: a Forstner bit will typically cut a more exact hole than a spade bit will, so you don't need to oversize the bit as much. I'll go ahead and say that Forstner bits are superior for this job. But Forstner bits are also more expensive, and you probably don't happen to have one laying around in your toolbox. Spade bits, on the other hand, are a dime a dozen.

Tip 3: The harder the dildo material is, the less oversizing you need to do on the drill bit. That's because the softer materials tend to stretch so much that the hole will be smaller than the drill bit was. More rigid materials don't do this as much.

Tip 4: Remember that the softer varieties of silicone, unlike wood, will not chip away. Instead, they tend to form long stringy chains of material, almost like snakes. Sometimes they will stubbornly stick to the base or walls of the hole, and you'll have to use needle-nose pliers to reach in and pull the excess rubbery material out. In fact, you will typically have to stop drilling several times so you can pull out strings and lumps of rubbery material. You might even be tempted to clean it out with a water jet, although I've never tried this (too much pressure and you might damage the toy).

Tip 5: It is better to err on the size of making the hole too big at first, rather than too small. If you start drilling and the hole is too big, you can switch to a smaller spade bit as you drill deeper. But if you start drilling and the hole is too small, you can't switch to a bigger spade bit. Spade bits, unlike spiral bits, need a base to grab onto in order to work. You can't use a spade bit the same way you'd use a regular spiral bit.

I was VERY curious how you made a hole in silicone. Don't play around with heat, imo. The heat won't have much effect on silicone, but it might make certain extra chemicals in the material smoke. I doubt that would be good for you.

Well I emailed them asking if they would be able to put a hole in the basic packer for me (at extra cost) so now just waiting to hear back from them. If they will put the hole in for me i'll be very inclined to make this my next purchase. For me it's gotta look the part but it has to be a stp. I don't mind switching for naked hide and seek but I gotta have a realistic stp and that's for some reason hard to find lol. It's the 21st century... *cries in corner* aha anyways i'll post the response I get from them so anyone else looking for this kind of info gets it.

Yea, this is getting ridiculous. Either emisil, reelmagik, or that ultra realistic doll store needs to create a built in stp like peecock's. Peecock does not look real enough to warrant a purchase.

I personally don't like how the peecock is designed. All I want it a hole in the shaft with medical spoon tubing. That would make me happy. I emailed Reel Magik and then responded telling me that they would not put a hole in it because then it would be an 'inferior product' and they didn't want me making a bad review or something because it ended up not being what I wanted, which is bogus IMO. I may still buy the cheap basic packer they have and just do the hole myself using the method mentioned above. Seriously though, if they can make a penile erection implant to put INTO A BODY then surely they can find a way to put one into a silicon prosthetic and run a tube through for an stp. SURELY if a energy drink company can put a guy on a space ship and drop him from space, then SURELY we have the technology to put an erection pump into some molded silicon. Gah it drives me bat ->-bleeped-<-.

Ha! I've seen this time again with niche-market companies. He can keep denying modifications and in the end another company will provide. That's always how it works... apple is a great example.

Like seriously? Something like this would not be rocket science.  Not saying it'd be a piece of cake, but realistically, this type of design could also leave room for an STP hole.

I know right? If I had the money i'd just buy the erectile implant and have my friend cast a dick for me lol. It's SO easy, the technology EXISTS and yet no one's done it. Whhhhhhhy?  You could easily place the inflatable bit towards the underside of the shaft (less center) and that would give you ample room to run a stop through. (It might be a bit thick, but that's not a complaint I hear very often )

With regards to Reel Magik. I'm bit annoyed that they won't do the mod. I'm considering sending them an email telling them that they will not be getting business from me in that case.... Oh also forgot the mention they said in the email they had 'future plans for an stp packer' so we'll see how long that takes.

Re: rm and stp. Uh huh, there was something about that over a year ago. And their wait list is too long.   Fx artists are starting to come out of the woodwork for this; only a matter of time before someone is innovative enough. I can't believe "companies" are opening up selling pre-packaged packers they shoved a hot rod through and stuck tubing down it. Stop it, we can do that ourselves.

Make your own mold. Give us a built in stp, make a play version with pump, make the aesthetics realistic or gtfo.

I understand the frustration, I've been there myself...but is it really fair to bash these companies just because they won't modify a product to your specs?  I'm sure we'd all love to get an STP from them...me more than any, but you can't expect these guys to just alter a product because we want it to do specific things.  They made a packer...not an stp.  There must be a reason why they won't do it.  Perhaps they have already tried to make it an stp and it didn't work...they might simply be trying to save you money and frustration.  I'd hate to spend extra money on a product that doesn't really work...and I think I'd be pissed off at the company if they didn't tell me up front that it won't work and made it for me anyway.

I'm guessing that since other companies already offer stp's they won't do one until they can do it better...someone here mentioned Apple, and it's the same deal with them.  It's like with the iTV...other companies already offer smart tv's with built in apps, and Apple isn't gonna enter the market until they have something that is better.  They won't even allow simple things like Adobe Flash on the iPhone cause it might slow it down or affect battery life or something...they refuse to modify products if it might make them less than perfect in their eyes.  They are still a multi-billion dollar company, and there are plenty of people that still love them and their products because they insist they work a certain way.

I'd also love to see another penile erection pump product... but I think the issue is with the patenting...If one company already offers a pump it might be patented, which may be why no one else is doing it.  Lawsuits and such...that's my guess.

Nobody is bashing rm because they won't modify. In fact, you are probably spot on as to why they won't. They are within their right to do that.

My point was that its only a matter of time before someone catches on to what is needed and actually does it. We do not need anoher subpar packer with a tube shoved down its throat. Fact. So stop making half assed contraptions.

I'm calling for a rel artist, and a real innovator to fill the void.

Sorry justcause...I was actually referring to what Bastian had said.  Should have noted that in the reply...no offense to you or Bastian, just my opinion on why they wouldn't do the mod.  Apparently they have one of the best packers on the market (according to all the reviews I have seen anyway)...maybe that's why they don't want to mess with it either.

Anyway, here's hoping someone listens and makes the product we all want:)

Easy everyone, no hating here, just mild disappointment. Fingers crossed maybe someone from the ftm community crawls out of the woodwork with an exceptional piece for us soon! Here's hoping! In any case like I said, i'll probably still get the RM and just mod it myself. It's one of the more realistic packers and I consider 100$ a decent price considering the quality. It's either that or $500-$1000 which I don't have nor do I feel inclined to spend on mediocrity o_O. Maybe when I retire i'll plop down and have a go at making us something lol. Unfortunately that would be 30 years away and i'm kind hoping someone else figures it out before then!

Rm packers may look real, but definitely do NOT FEEL real. I wouldnt want to be grabbed wearing that thing. Just my opinion. The balls feel way too hard to be packing and pissing with.. I don't know,just don't feel real enough for a stp..I was also thinking the same thing before I read this discussion but just not gonna work for my liking..

Well I hope no one grabs me while I'm pissin! That might be a bit awkward  I get what you're saying though and I appreciate the feedback. Even though I've gotten the hang of packing [lolz pun] and how to comfortably position things, anything too hard would not only make me feel uncomfortable, but would also prevent me from wearing it while riding, an activity I do pretty much everyday. I'm off now to see if other's feel the same way about the stiffness.

So far just really haven't found anything I like =( Maybe Tyron will fix the look in the Phase 4 and remedy the piss poor design they presented this year x) That would be great. No idea what i'll do though, might just end up replacing my current stp with another non-realistic, cheapie for now... Still have my fingers grossed for the sinthetics.

I agree to this collaborative effort.  I'd love to add my skills (meager though they are).  I'm looking into coloring silicone as well, and found a relatively cheap alternative to expensive silicone paints.  They recommend it in an FX book I found as something that is used a lot in the prosthetics industry.  I'd love to try it out, but I have no color theory or mixing/matching skills (I literally dropped out of that class thinking I'd never use it!).

I am that guy, yes! Hah. I've been checking out the people on Our Doll for cheap painting tips, as well as an FX textbook I've been working through...apparently you can just mix oil paint and rubber cement thinner or naphtha...I'm excited to try it out.  I'd also love to hear about your idea! So many folks here are coming up with cool new things; I think I'm going to start a thread so we can put it all in one place!
