Ebay!!!! I get everything on Ebay. In fact you can find a lot of womens shoes in bigger sizes for cheap if you look, because there's not as much demand for them and people have a hard time selling them.
Unfortunately, some brands just don't go beyond 11

and a lot of us mtfs are right on the cusp. I think a womens 11 is about a mens 9. I don't have a lot of experience but it sounds like there's some variation... my feet are a little bigger, 9.5 is better but generally I have no problem with mens 9 whereas these shoes from china that are a womens 11 are pretty tight. It's not painful just to wear them although they are simple converse style shoes.
It's worth mentioning that
it IS possible to stretch leather shoes. They make shoe stretchers, I don't think you can go up more than a size but if you fall in love with something or you've bought something and can't return it, it could be worth it. It's probably possible with shoes made from other materials as well.

Congrats Brooke, losing weight is high on my list.
Something that happened to me, and I've heard others say the same thing, I found myself suddenly needing a larger shoe size somewhere around the age of 40 or so. I guess as the feet age, the various tissues yield to a lifetime of stress and weight bearing, with a resulting relaxation and expansion of the foot. On the plus side for MTF, seems there is some reduction in both hand and foot size as a result of HRT, although that may be more true for HRT at an early age, before the full masculinizing effects of indigenous T have set in.
I think there are some genetics to that, sometimes the bone will shift and get enlarged - luckily if that gets bad enough there are procedures that can get covered by insurance.
As for the effects of HRT, I've heard this recently, and I'm pretty skeptical. I know it reduces muscle, but bone??

I kinda want to see some harder evidence.
