Hi folks,
I realize this is a bit of a random topic, but I was hoping I might some folks who had gone through something similar and might be able to help. I'm in the process of applying to extend my visa in Canada (changing from a student visa to a work visa), and I feel worried about medical inadmissibility because I'm trans. I identify as FTM and have been on T for 1.5 years while living here in Canada as a student. (I haven't done any official name change or gender marker change paperwork, that's another long road ahead...)
Recently while I was at the clinic (where my doctor who has been with me through my transition is), she did a chest exam for me and sent it off so that I could potentially have funding for top surgery. Now, as I'm filling out my forms for immigration, I'm suddenly realizing (and worried) that my attempt to access funding for top surgery may make me medically inadmissible, because of the high cost associated with surgery. I'm also a bit uncertain how to answer the question about if I have any medical or mental health problems that may require treatment other than medication for two reasons: 1. I'm worried about the surgery funding request, and 2. I'm worried about the politics of writing "I'm trans!" all over a government-reviewed document.

It's stressing me out... Any advice or thoughts would be very helpful and appreciated, thank you.
