Ok, So in the never ending hunt for underwear that keeps everything in place I have made a discovery.
My wife did a photo shoot recently for a lady who makes some really cool panties from recycled Tshirts.
What's even better is that said lady is interested in making undergarments for trans folks.
What's even better still is that I stole a pair from my wife that she got as part payment for the shoot and they are amazing.
They fit super well and they are just the standard design, no trans specific features.
Anyway, as Kori (that's the lady who runs the company in question) had already expressed an interest in making a version for trans women I decided I'd introduce myself and offer some input. Seeing as I've been in the fashion industry for the last decade I figured I was pretty well qualified to offer advice.
Well I met with Kori last Thursday and she was a total sweetheart and she's going to make some prototypes for me to test out based on my recommendations, and then She'll need a few extra bodies of various sizes to try them out and report back.
So here's where I though I'd request your participation.
First, we'll need some folks to test out and report back on the design. That'll be a few months out though as she's moving her whole operation to Michigan and things will be on hold during that process, but, any of you who are in the US and interested in product testing go ahead nad PM me your measurements and I'll get in touch when Kori is looking for more folks to product test.
Secondly, Kori does super cute and often really quirky screen print designs on the underwear and I suggested that having some designs that would be immediately recognizable to trans people but meaningless to Cis folks would be fun.
What immediately came to mind would be a pair of undies with a "So Brave" print on them but I'd love to hear other suggestions.
As to the product itself, the only thing that's really different from regular underwear is the fabric weight. To be clear, you shouldn't expect a perfectly camouflaged appearance if you're walking around in just your undies BUT I have been able to wear them with my tightest stretch jeans and leggings and everything looks perfect. So, the selling point here is that they're cute as all get out and SIMPLE. No pockets or string or other stuff. just underwear that holds a tuck incredibly well.
I'd like to point out that, aside from some free undies, I'm not getting anything from this. It's simply a product I want to buy so I'm helping out to make it happen. SO I hope I'm not running afoul of any rules regarding promoting ones own services.
I don't think I'm allowed to link out from here to Kori's site so I'm omitting a link to her store until a Mod let's me know if that would be ok.
Mods? would that be Ok?
