Hello My name is Katie.
I just joined this forum after I found it on Google. I am a 39 year old M to F Transsexual. I am currently taking hormones, though this was a hard decision, I am the Happiest I have ever been in my entire life. I have had a hard time with this transition, but fortunately my job is very accepting of me. I have been living as a woman full time for the Past 6 months. My family lives almost 3 thousand miles away from me, they had no idea that I was going through this transition until recently. I think one of the hardest challenges that I had to face was explaining to my farther that I was no longer his son but now I am his daughter. I am happy to say that even though he does not quite understand what I am going through, he does accept me. For years I was ashamed of myself and who I was, Today I am very confident and I am proud of who I have become. My message to everyone facing the same challenges I am, Be proud of who you are. You control you own destiny.

Hi Katie.  Welcome to Susan's Place.

The decisions we have to make are rarely easy.  But, ultimately, being true to ourselves brings peace of mind.

Hi Katie and welcome. Congratulations on your transition. Now you can live the life that you have always wanted. It took me over a year to be comfortable with myself. When I did feel great in my own skin, life took a whole different meaning. Be who yo are and enjoy life.
