Out and about today, I heard the words, "Ma'am," directed at me, by someone who does not know me.  I enjoy it, cuz I don't really dress flirty and girly like so many of you, so it is nice to get ma'am'd.

My partner was with me, and being a wisenheimer, all the way home in the car, she was saying, "ma'am" and "miss" and all kinds of stuff.  Fun.

A good day.

I'm happy for you  WooT!!!!!      Don't worry about the  'Flirty -girly' look..    :)  It costs me a lot of money to look this trashy!   LOL   Dolly sure knew what she was talking about.

Funny.  I never heard that one before.

Yeah, I enjoy the experience of being seen as ma'am to someone, but I do not worry about it that much.  My partner treats me like a loved, lovely woman, plus she expects a lot from me.  It is good.  Counts for a lot.

Uh-huh ! I'm still not really dressing as a girl, but whenever I get she'd, I pretend not to notice and make a big smile on the inside. Always a good little ray of sunlight in my day.

Same here, but I am getting there.  My hair situation is majorly heinous.  But wearing some jewelry, earrings, and the right colors for my clothes helps.   My partner has wardrobe rights for me, so she has been building up my "look" gradually.  It's fun, but I am not a glamor puss like some are.

But the main visible thing is my shape, which is where men and women always look anyway.  ;)  A person can miss the sandals, the earrings, be oblivious to the fuchsia colors, but not the bust line, which I do not hide anymore.    :)

Delighted for you that you are getting the recognition you want however I am not sure I agree with the above statement. If you have a really prominent bustline maybe that's what people look at first, otherwise I'm inclined to believe it's your face, no?
Hugs.

Not my face, at any rate!  :o

Seriously, though, I suppose you are right about looking first at the face.  It just seems like more attention focuses about 8 inches lower down.  It's not that I am "really prominent" but I do not hide my shape as I used to, and I wear my bra full time now, so my shape is obvious.  That is how "ma'am" comes my way, I think -- except for my partner, who calls me doll and all kinds of lovely names -- humbling, considering where I come from.

...Bust helps
It's all I've got, seems like.

I.e., without my shape but everything else as I am today, my look would probably not get much attention, other than from my partner.

Congrats, I'm glad for you, Ma'am. However, just wait for how good you will feel and enjoy when someone will say Ma'am to you over the phone, without knowing your gender and without knowing your name. When your voice passes over the phone ...  ;)
Then your voice is fine. Sometimes that's the easy part. :)
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

Almost every cis woman I know hates being called "ma'am," and most trans women I know (myself included) likes being called "ma'am."

It's great to hear!

That would be lovely, nothing visible, only audible.  My voice needs work....

I already got that going, for a long time, before hrt I had to correct people and tell them I wasnt a ma'am. On the phone I get mistaken for a woman 7 outta 10 times,  those other 3 times is me usually being mad

The first time I got she'd and her'd was Wednesday and you're right it was such a relieving, euphoric experience. It was almost spiritual and like God smiled on me and finally answered my prayers.

ooh, and congrats OP...you have a great writing style. Love it!

Always makes me feel like I am floating in air, even now when it is happening regularly.

Oh, I see.  Thanks for the kind words.

Today my partner is going to be treating me to Mother's Day dining out, though I am not a mom, only a wannabee mom.  That is better than somebody saying "Ma'am" in my opinion.
