Some good news (for me at last)....

I went and saw my GP on Tuesday and she is happy to do the blood tests I need and will prescribe 'the right' HRT. I can go via my GP for everything, without the need of going to an NHS gender clinic.

I am having bloods done tomorrow.

I think our fathers may be distant relatives. Mine can't even accept his gay brother that's been out for longer than I've been alive. Not really looking forward to telling him for the reasons of what you stated is happening with yours.

It also sounds like you may have a similar history as me as far as decisions go. I have things that I really want to do, but if I do them now, it puts me in a position where it makes it very difficult to transition, so I go back and forth a lot. I decide to do something, then change my mind because transition is more important, so mine sees that as being impulsive because he doesn't know the whole truth and when he does know the whole truth, I'm sure he'll view it as some sort of rebellion that won't last.

But you're all good. You're doing what's right for you and that's good enough. He's the one that needs to come around, not you. I guess this is a little late. The thread's not talking about this anymore, but oh well. I worked hard on those paragraphs!
