Just bought Aland Dean Foster's Prequel and Novel to the upcoming movie "Transformers".

I will probably disappointed with both the movie and novels, but I guess its just something I have to read.

Ya, book is slightly different. I own the special edition copy with the prologue narration not shown in the movie.

My room has 3 posters on my wall from the movie.

It tells the thoughts of the robots, well the writers interpretation, which I like.

The prequel was interesting since it tells of a secret ship that earth built and sent off with technology built from the discovered Megatron. And getting lost across the galaxy, and meeting up with the Decepticons and Autobots. A small battle and encounter with alien creature. And attempt to return to earth.

The book has additional dialogue, sequences in a different order, and thoughts of the characters.

Certainly the action of the movie can't be replicated in the book, but the dialogue and thoughts are much greater.
