The major thread on "effects of hrt on facial features" (or words to that effect) seems to have gone missing .... anyone know why ?

Hmm... I don't know why....  but it had been deleted.  So I moved it back into the mainstream.  Perhaps one of us wizards hit the delete key by mistake?  Thanks Laura for asking about this.

Indeed all topics started by "Icarus Wings (?)" - Amish girl - seem to have gone too ...

... loss of Christian college teaching job in Korea etc. etc.

Can people just delete threads they've started  :( ? ... and how ??? ??

Icarus has re-appeared under the pseudonym "love" as a new poster ....

... has she managed to hack group security ?

It looks like Icarus Wings has requested to leave Susans.  I do not know what happened or what made her decide to leave.

But does that mean every thread she started gets deleted ??? ?

The HRT thread had girls take so much trouble over posting wonderful pics of themselves (Keira et al ...) and surely this needs to be preserved ?

My feeling about internet posts is "caveat emptor" ... you make the post in the understanding that its there as long as the site has an active host ....

(P.S. still can't see the HRT thread re-instated)

I believe you can request every post and thread you made gets deleted. I dont think that happened.

I hope she comes back. Maybe I was too hateful towards religion for her and it made her uncomfortable.

Yes we can track back an hit "delete" on all our posts, but deleting whole threads and other peoples often hard worked at contributions is surely not on ?

You can delete your post, but not surely "quoted versions" of it in other people's postings ?

Just where are Icarus's many threads on her Amish background, and her employment issues ?

A moderator clarification on this would be most welcome ....

Yeah, I sure hope that his thread has  not been deleted permanently!!!

If indeed, the person who started the thread can delete all responses, that's a software bug and it needs to be fixed. Say someone deleted a multi-year thread they started, should it delete a thousand posts?

Group archives over time become a throve of information, so much information just a search button away.

There is little visual information beyond the standard spiel of saying it will happen,
on the effect of HRT of facial fat.
This thread probably had more examples of this than the whole rest of the internet!!!!!
Photos speak louder than words.

For people pre-HRT, and not thinking they can pass, this kind of info is invaluable. Its that kind of thing, I saw another before and after picture on another web site, which showed the possibility that estrogen would work its magic, that got me moving forward last year.

Looks like the topic has been reinstated under FAQ ....

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,13901.0.html

.... why ???

Just how will anyone find it there ... it needs to be back in the HRT pages !

Yes Laura, I pulled it out of the deleted bin.

It is possible for someone to delete a message that they have created unless it is the first post of a thread.  Unless there have been no replies, you should not be able to delete the thread.  In fact, you should not be able to delete the first message in a thread you create.  You can modify the contents but not delete the message.

I'm still curious as to how this thread was deleted.

And I'm truly saddened that Icarus has left us.  I liked her very much.

Cindi,

At least five threads that Icarus started in the last two days (and which I read in some detail) have been wiped completely ... responses and all !

Would love to know how this could happen, as all I can seemingly do is modify and delete my own posts, not anyone else's posts, let alone whole threads ???

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I spend a LOT of time on R 'n R in Craig's List, and you would not believe the threads that a master troll can create to get what they want, or to motivate people to do as they wish. Is it possible that IW was a plant to collect photos of people?

On Craig's List, people steal photo's all of the time and photoshop them to show people in horribly edited "situations."

The whole Amish Boy becomes TS seemed kind of implausible to me.

These trolls are master hackers a lot of the time and pose as everything from women to authority figures, some of them spectacularily so. I hope that I am wrong, but nothing on-line surprises me anymore. Nothing.

All my photos are public and online anyway, so eh! unless somebody wanted a nude photo, which I'm certainly not ready to publish anywhere, even on the most private of forums, I'm not about to worry about it.

There was something slightly off about the whole thing, but again, eh! I don't care either way.

That was nothing. You should see some of threads that I have seen. These people are really good at what they do. Money, no prob. Pics, no prob. You get the idear.

They don't want your nude body. That would be too easy. Think your head, somebody else's body, and say....a donkey. That is more of what I am talking about. I feel really sorry for this one woman that must have fallen for one troll's BS, because he does everything to her photo, and uses it as his avatar. It is so very bad. Thing is, for a time he was fooling everyone with his storyline. It's insigious.

The only real use of this (As parts of doctored photos) is as blackmail material and I'd prefer outing myself than to succumb to that; then... I'd get even... And they better be on the moon or another dimension because I'm a pittbull when mad.

I've been on the pseudo-internet since high-school in 1984 (I had "connections" with a university researcher) and spent 13+ year as a senior architect in systems startups. Thus, If I want to find them, I will and they better be far far away or I'll sick hell or lawyers, whichever is worse, on them.  >:D
