Hello from Illinois

Hello everyone. My name is Jen and I live in Normal, IL. Yes, there really is a town called Normal.

I'm new here and going to be looking around for information specifically relating to surgeries. I am a full time trans-woman (since January of this year). I am very fortunate to have an incredibly supportive environment (family, friends, employer, etc). I'm in my mid 40s and u fortunately time has played havoc with my body. I don't let that bother me. I am treated with respect and addressed as I wish to be.

Hope to find some helpful information and be able to help others as well. Feel free to ask me anything. I'm a pretty open book and love to share my journey up to this point.

Although I'm not originally from Illinois, I've lived here for four fifths of my life, so I guess I could also be said to be "from Illinois." ^_^ I live in the western suburbs of Chicago. I've been to Normal a few times, usually visiting ISU for some reason or another.

Hi Jamie, sandy and the other Illinois Jen. . Nice to meet all of you.

I make trips up to the SW suburbs and to Oak Park fairly regularly for shopping (IKEA) and electrolysis (Kelly is AWESOME). Other than that, I stick to the boonies, as those in the Chicago are like to call the rest of Illinois.
