Kia Ora,

:eusa_think: Psychic Phenomena

The phone rings (ring ring...ring ring) and you know before you pick it up, who it is on the other end of the line... because you were 'just thinking' about this person ! Weird or what ?

Well it turns out to be the most common 'telepathic' experience that humans share (Including the harden sceptic)...

Is it true? As it happened to you? Are you a psychic ? Or perhaps a little psycho (like me) ?  ;) ;D

On a more serious note: I'm a believer/knower/experiencer...

If you don't want to listen to all of this talk(It quite interesting BTW) just start at 35.35 mins into it...

Telephone telepathy huh? It seems like it works for me more often when it is something important. Like a death in the family or other bad news and good news. It just don't happen all the time.

Personally I think ESP is a natural but unlearned ability or unused ability. Even the government was exploring this possiblity at one time, whether they fully admit to it or not, in the way of remote viewing.

Kia Ora Jess,

:icon_yikes: Wow ! I just knew you would be the first to comment ! Isn't that weird !  ;) ;D

When it comes to governments wanted an edge on other governments anything goes including the paranormal...

Many weird and wonderful things have happened and are still happening in my life and I just go with the 'natural' flow of theses experiences...

Now where else would you find me Kuan Yin.  I am a strange one for sure. When it comes to telepathy or anything unexplained, I'm there or here or both at the same time. ;)

Kia Ora Jess,

One would think given the history of shamanism and its close connection with trans-people (two spirit-people) etc there would be a lot more psychic/gifted trans-people coming out of the woodwork...

(Not really trans-related...Unless that is, one takes into account 'me' the narrator)

I remember years ago when I was living in Australia, a friend and I were driving to Canberra from Sydney and we stopped to pick up a hitch hiker who was a young Aboriginal guy from the local area,( somewhere in the sticks -a bush town) back then there was no cellphones and most Aboriginal communities didn't have access to telephones (this was early 1970s) anyway he had just been visiting relatives in another town for a few days and was on he's way home, he said his mum knew that he would arrive home at such and such a time and when we asked him how, he said it was all to do with the Aboriginal  bush "telepathic" telegraph,(he didn't use those words but something similar)  he said he couldn't explain it but he just knew that his mum knew, and when we dropped him off, there was his mother standing there waiting...

I've had numerous experiences similar to this with other Aborigines in other parts of Australia when I use to hitch hike around the country... I was/we were often picked up by Aboriginal people and on some occasions if it was getting late they would put us up for the night (I often travelled with a friend-but not always) similar thing-they might have been a way hunting in the bush for a few days, and when they arrive home the family were 'expecting' them (and often us too)...I was fortunate enough to get to know/meet many Aboriginal people during my time in Oz...

Some Aborigines often go on what's commonly known as  "walkabout" where they would just go off (Without giving any notice) into the bush for days weeks or months but their families always seemed to know when they would be back  ...

It seems that the more technological or the more comfortable or the more we become grounded in a material world you can even say,  it seems to me the less we realize certain natural abilities. Throughout history we have always been closer to death than we are today. Sure people are killed, there is still deseases, accidents, truly crazy people that are killing others, and governmental equations such as war and genocide and so on. There are a lot of maladies that have been become curable or pretty much wiped out like yellow fever, tuberculosis, small pox and so on. There are still pockets of these diseases and they still pop up from time to time in other areas. I won't even go into the survival aspect like having to hunt for food and foraging and trying to maintain a diet to prevent scurvy and other dietary imbalances. Now all we have to do is go to the nearest Wal Mart Supercenter (here in the States that is) and pick up you weeks worth of groceries and whatever clothing you need for the season. It may just be me but I believe the more we get grounded in the "real" world the more we are going to lose our natural abilities.

There is something about wide open spaces when people are few and far between each other. I am an introvert big time and I find those spaces extremely comfortable. I have friends are and have talked to quite a few Native Americans about Spiritual matters. It's quite interesting what some of the elders have told me especially, some but not all, of the things about trans related issues. It's really interesting how you called trans people two spirited. Like I always say, even though I believe in Creationism I also believe in Evolution on all levels just as strongly.

With me, it's not so much the telphone as it is with deaths in the family. Usually I will feel strange the day someone dies or I will have dreams about them "going away" at night. I have never dreamed of someone close to me dying but rather telling me bye with a somber, bitter sweet parting. I have been in two auto accidents, nothing major and niether one I was a fault, and for one I dreamed about it but not specifically and in the other I was on edge the whole day before. The one that I had a sort of expectation of, once the accident happened the anxiety and edginess was instantly gone.

Speaking of Aborigines and their walkabouts, I do these on a lesser extent. I have to get back to nature and away from people and all the noise. It allows me to be introspective and and get somewhat wild in a wilderness sort of way. I will fish or hunt depending on the season but will also bring food just in case. I'm kinda' miserable when it comes the fish because I hate touching fish and cleaning them. This is the only time that I will though. I'm such a girl when it comes to slime. ;) Sometimes I even fast for a good portion of my little excursions. It really does my Psyche good and allows a sort of purging and rejuvenation. Like I said I am extremely introverted probably to more unhealthy levels than most and without the excursions I would probably have to be commited.

Anyway when it comes to phones and the main way I work I am sort of like Povlov's dogs. When the phone rings I have no idea when I'll see home again, where I am going, and I know how miserable it will be especially in the summer time. So for me mentally the phone means unsurity, anxiety, danger and discomfort. Unlike Povlov's dogs relating the bell to food and being a positive, when the bell rings for me it's pretty much negative and one of the reasons that type of telepathy doesn't happen to me as much. :'(

Kia Ora Jess,

Dean Radin (the author of "Entangled Minds") interesting theory....  ::) It does make one 'wonder'  :eusa_think:

It's possible our senses (including our ESP) are bombarded(interfered with) by external stimuli in the form of electrical energy waves/charges from modern day technology, phones, tvs, electrical appliances, etc, and for many of us, our ESP becomes overloaded/worked causing a malfunction ie, not able to run at its full capacity ...Like overloading a power point(and this case the power point being the brain}  :icon_yikes:

nah, electronics don't disturb it. it's just that we relax too much when we can just send an sms to know when someone will arrive. i was at a computer lab once when i suddenly knew that someone i really wanted to talk to right then had logged on to msn. i was in class right then, and had to wait a few minutes before i could log on. those minutes were really long because i knew the other person wasn't one to stay on for long at a time, we usually missed each other.

i know more than enough psychic people who're on facebook, own at least one cellphone, watch tv all day, and everything. doesn't seem to prevent them from knowing things just a little earlier than fb users.

i think the problem is that most people don't want to believe in it. telepathy and other things only work if you believe that it's possible. i've seen signs of things that have happened only at a later time. knew it would happen when there was no way of actually knowing. if i didn't believe that these things are real, i would have missed the signs and wouldn't be able to interpret them.

i think telepathy is the same. if you don't believe in it, then you'll just dismiss the gut feeling as your imagination, or remembering things wrong. if you know it's real, you'll recognize it when it happens. most people don't experience it strongly enough that they would understand it unless they knew it is and actual possibility.

Kia Ora Taka,

But having a belief in it, quite often is accompanied by 'wishful thinking' which can disrupt the smooth running of authentic brain wave messages, perhaps this is why many psychics predictions don't eventuate, 'wishful thinking' starts to override  the original  feeling/hunch...

:eusa_think: I have an uncanny ability to read forum members minds... ::)

there are things i only knew because i do believe that telepathy and some other things actually can happen. if i didn't believe this, i would never have realized what was going on, and i would have missed out on the message.

wishful thinking is what happens when you start actively looking for things that aren't necessarily there. i can do that really well if i try. but then there are times when i simply know, and that is very different from a guess that comes from wishful thinking.

i would never participate in any experiment, because i know it doesn't bend to my will at all. when it comes to reading people's thoughts, rather than just knowing who's calling or that they will contact me, that is more of an educated guess. or an intuition based on experience and much conscious and unconscious analysis. i have been accused of reading people's thought, but it was more like me understanding the kind of thought patterns they were likely to follow in the type of situation we were discussing. some people are very easy to read, and i can discover those patterns easily, other people are more difficult to read, and those i'll just have to ask.

You knew I would post this here, so I had no choice but to do it.

Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!
