okay so i am 1.78m tall and weigh 53kg. i like being light because of the following reasons

1. it makes my hips bigger than my waist
2. it means people are more likely to pick me up / hold me / let me sit on them
3. it means less fat on my face - more feminine
4. it makes my body look more girly
5. i'm scared that the fat will give me energy to produce more testosterone and i feel it's too high as it is

i don't know how big my waist / hips are but i have to wear mens clothes (i'm small mens) and they don't fit well (their baggy, big, wide, sometimes half my chest is exposed from the button up part of a polo shirt and often one of my shoulders is completely exposed. my mum critices me when i wear more tighter clothing because it almost exposes my tummy but thats not a problem for me, just them)

anyway i love being light. is c53kg a good weight

Actually, men's faces tend to be hollow, while women tend to have more fat on the cheeks.  This is something HRT changes, and usually to drastic effect.

Answering the topic, that sounds very skinny to me.  Like, really skinny.  I'm about 5'4" and weigh five pounds more than you - that's underweight to the degree my therapist thinks I might have an eating disorder.  But everyone's body is different, so it could be perfectly healthy for you.  If you want feminization from a future dose of HRT, however, you'll want to gain a few pounds, else there will be little fat to redistribute!  ;)

53kg seems a bit underweight, you'd probably have a bit more curves at 60kg

being light isn't always a good thing, just ask Piglet on a windy, blustery day how that works out...

1kg = 2.2 lbs

So, 53kg = 116lbs

1.78m = 5' 10"

Yes, that's pretty light, imho. I'd expect a woman that tall to be 140-150lbs (64-68 kg)

I'm 6' (1.8m) and 240 (110kg), but could stand to lose 60 lbs without looking like I'm starving. So, 180 lbs = 82kg...

"Ideal" height/weight source

...5' 8" varies between 126 and 167lbs (57kg and 76kg), depending on if you have a small, medium, or large frame.

Mine varies between 138 and 179, which is just under my preferred weight of 180 (I have a large frame).

Of course, if you're healthy at your weight--not fatigued, sick, etc--you're fine. But, if you want more curves, you're gonna need to put on perhaps 5-10kg.

fwiw, I don't think excess fat makes the body produce more testosterone.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

You will fogive me if this post is alittle feh, I'm still abit drunk and my glasses are hidden, but I will forget to post this in the morning.

You weigh less than I did at my lowest weight and your even taller than me, at my lowest I was suffering some health implications associated with my weight at the time... and I didn't actually feel healthy at all despte what I told myself.

However your points 1, 2 ,4 ,5 are valid, even though it's not healthy solution in the big picture and I totally get why your doing it if that's the reason your keeping your weight so llow an act of sabotage against a trecherous body.
I totally ghet it and I can't rail you on it because I did worse crap to myself an I don't have regerts dispite how corrosive it was to my body it did stop some of the masculinisation.

if your ttans and you know it  an you really want a female body I reccomend sorting out your hormonal status first, HRT in that so your fears are less valid, then I'd suggest gaining abit of weight half a stone or so. while I can't guareentee anything (varying milage in all) I'd bet that it would goto all girly places and you'd look and feel frickin amazing.

and I am sorry if this post actually makes no-sense at al,

Boys can be rough...real rough...play fighting...hair pulling...
Mmm I'll stop before I get carried away...

Anyways. Super skinny says super bulemic....

I'm sorry Christine but i find your post more than a little bit disturbing. Bones are for dogs.. meat is for men..??
Is that how you view yourself? as a piece of meat for some guy?
It's also worth noting veltiro didn't mention anything about her sexual orientation or incorporating that into any of her reasoning as to why she prefers being a lighter weight.

I am 5"9' (175 cm) and weight 152 lbs (69 kg). I look quite small for a man now - and I am estimating that with the inevitable muscle mass loss triggered by the HRT I might go down to 60 kg, but that would really be my lowest limit. Lower than that would be really unhealthy. Or probably even 60kg would be too low and I should be looking at something between 62-65kg.

Hmm. Yes, it's a little disturbing, but personally I find the neuroticism and obsession around weight a little more disturbing and frightening. That's a fast track to anorexia and bulimia. Lack of weight actually masculinises a person's face and body. Talking to a therapist about weight and body image issues wouldn't hurt. And would facilitate getting to the root of the actual problem.

Even considering individual variation in body shape and ideal weight, your BMI 17 indicates underweight.

I am 183 cm, and once weighed 53 kg in my early 20s. At that time, I was nearly starved everyday. Now I weight 67 kg. I am a regular runner. My goal is 65 kg, which I can attain by exercising strongly in summer. In any case, my BMI is 20, which indicates 'ideal weight'.

Weight is no so much concern to me. I am rather preoccupied with my waist size. My goal is to maintain 25.5 inch.
