Imam Dayaiee Abdullah, a gay man who converted to Islam when he was 29, runs a mosque in D.C. that is LGBT-friendly, and marries LGBT Muslim and inter-faith couples.

"Life is changing for gay Muslims, even if the changes seem infinitesimally small. A gay-friendly mosque opened near Paris last year. A lesbian Muslim couple from Pakistan married in a civil service this year in England. Western Muslims are leading the push for inclusiveness, said Ani Zonneveld, president of Muslims for Progressive Values, for which Abdullah serves as director of LGBT outreach."

I have actually met the guy a couple of years ago, although he wouldn't recognise me (since transitioning). He came for the Salaam conference in my province for queer Muslims, and he was just super friendly and loving.

I know some Muslims who are gay or whatnot, and there are a few, but many of these people are also very kept in their identity. Although there is even less references to same-sex intercourse than the Bible, it has been culturally condemned.

While being transsexual (and straight) is not considered abominable, being homosexual in any circumstance is considered forbidden.
