Hey everyone- should I have posted this here or in FTM? It seems like this board has been mostly dominated by the girls. XD

I used to have a really good trans-friendly doctor but unfortunately I am poor and I just can't afford those $800 blood panels anymore so I can't really go back to her. My T prescription ran out a couple of weeks ago and I even did less frequent doses to help it to last longer while I figured out how to renew my prescription. I found a public clinic in the city that will give me the shots (awesome) but unfortunately I must wait for my blood test to come back before I can get it and that will take a month.

Basically I've been off of T for a couple of weeks already and I have a month more to wait and I'd like to know from any guys who have been in a similar situation (unable to get T for a couple months or so) do you think my periods could return in that span of time? I suppose knowing won't help it any- but it will set me at ease to have an idea of this. Also I don't want to be totally blindsided by it while I'm out in public. Talk about embarrassing!

Thank you so much in advance for your replies, everyone.

Well, I was off T for maybe 5 months last year. I really didn't notice much difference in anything. But then, my libido is the same regardless. I did eventually get a period, but it was around the 5 month mark if I remember correctly. At the least, it was several months without T before it happened.

How long have you been on T and how far apart were you spacing the shots from your usual routine? Not sure if that will make a difference or not.
Anyway, I doubt you have to worry. I think the system takes some time to adjust before it immediately goes back, especially if you've been on it for years.

I have been on T for about 2.5 years at this point and I used to do weekly injections, switched to every two weeks to conserve for about a month (so like half dose.)

Five months? That's a relief. XD I guess I will be okay! Thanks, man.

Update: Started bleeding tonight while I was watching a movie.

:c Gonna be a painful few days. I wish I could afford a doctor. I guess I haven't been on T long enough.

Silver, I am not sure what blood tests take a month.  That's nuts.  I can get my E, T, and P results back in a few days, along with my liver panel, blood chemistry, etc.

Well, it is a free clinic in the city. They are busy. As it is, I feel lucky I can get HRT for free and also that I can get care before I am approved for the program.

Nah nah, thanks for the help anyway. I guess it's resilient since I am pretty young/haven't been on T long. Just like one more week and I can get the shot~ though I will miss being allowed to take care of it myself.
