Can you cut estradiol tablets in half.

Hello Everyone,

I was just curious if anyone knew about whether or not it was okay to cut estradiol tabs in half.  My dosage just went up a little more than half and I wanted to use my remaining pills from my last prescription.  I don't like being wasteful.  I am sure it is okay, but I know some drugs are not recommended to split (like time release or enteric coating).

Piece of cake, get a pill cutter at your local pharmacy, they are inexpensive. I use one, they work fine.

A lot of pills will split right in half if you push down on the opposite edges with your fingers.

Splitting should be no problem.  I second what Shan says, get a pill cutter, if your pills are not already scored.

Okay, good to know.  I would hate to be wasteful.  I was just afraid I would hurt myself if I split it in half or something.  Like there is some secret poison inside,lol. I'll just use a knife and try with that.  I'm too cheap and poor to waste money on a pill cutter,lol.
