I never really liked anything that could be considered girly. I always pretended to like certain things. Then decided to stop pretending to like feminine things to fit in.

But as I slowly become more comfortable with myself, I find myself being drawn to things that are somewhat feminine. Lol. Now I have to do the whole "accepting myself as I am" thing all over again.

A few days ago I was reading in bed while being very nearsighted and minus contacts, so the book wasn't too far away, when there appeared a giant (for my ordinary non-Aussie area, okay) wolf spider on its merry way down between my face and the page.  The next night I felt a tickle on my elbow, peered over, and found another one the same size.  This one I had to carry while it went up my forearm before I located something suitable for killing it with.  I do believe I put a shirt on after that one.

I would have flipped out and slapped that bastard across the room.

Should have seen me when I saw this grasshopper-looking thing sitting on my front door as I came up the stairs. and i about screamed when I saw the thing could fly!!
What the hell do you americans feed your wildlife over here? back in europe, grasshoppers are tiny little things. Over here they're big enough to put a saddle on. Same with some of your beetles. Then there's the bats that keep coming into our apartment somehow. I find myself wishing I was back in the UK at such times.


I wish the girls had a 'Badass' thread. I dont feel pretty, but I feel capable. it's like I've accepted that yea, I'm plain, but I'm still worth something.

Stop chasing the bats. They are there to eat all those bugs that you complain about. I'm going to run out of bats pretty soon if you keep this up.

Then stop putting the bats IN my apartment, the bugs are on the outside of it. I've had to Catch and release 6 bats since I moved in here 2 years ago! Why do you think I don't feel pretty? I have to get all armoured up to catch the little buggers so they don't bite me and I dont get rabies or something. Thats why all I feel is capable.

Ok, I see the problem. I will have to retrain them to work from the outside. I hope they don't mind being on the outside looking in when there is such a beautiful lady on the inside.
