I tried subtly asking my mother about this a few weeks ago, and it turns out they didn't know my gender beforehand (well I suppose they still don't :P) and yet didn't have any names ready, my mom named me on the spot. Thanks for the help mom  ::)
Cheers!

I asked my mom to name me when I came out to her and she said Michael or Paul. Thank god I dodged that bullet. I don't think I'm a Michael or a Paul!

My parents knew I would be born as a boy so they didn't bothered thinking of a female one.

Drove my mother mad trying to find it out (I was arround 8 years old).

Interestingly, my parents were expecting a boy. I wonder to this day what they saw on the ultrasound... Even though I was born a "surprise" girl, they named me after my father anyway, with a supposedly gender neutral spelling of Randahl. I've always liked my name, and consider myself blessed to have a name that matched me from the get-go.

This thread title drives me nuts every time I see it. The English teacher in me is squirming over that first verb. I really have a hard time letting things go...sigh.

Well, since the sonogram said I was suppose to be a boy, I would have been named after my dad, which his name is James. I would have wanted to change it anyways cause I don't like common names so much. i know like 5 dudes names james

My mom told me I would have been Joshua. I feel like asking her what my little sister would have been named had I been cis out of curiosity (since Joshua was on the list of names for her at the time).

I'd have been Coleen.  Ironically, my mother recently told me that when I was born, she was totally in shambles at the hospital because I was born a boy.  She wanted two daughters...

Chiara... It's an italian name and it means light (which is cool because my male name has the same meaning)!

Well now my youngest sister has this name so I'm not gonna use it, and I don't even like it so that's even better xD I know though that they also like Serena or Sofia (which I like too, so I might take one of those two when I legally change my name), and I know that they would have used those two in case they had other girls.

My mother doesn't know what to have called me as a boy because she knew I was a girl. :/

Roxanne. My Mom told me this when I was very young, and I never forgot. She liked the way "Roxi" sounded (Roxanne abbreviated, obviously), and so that is my name. I personally love it and think it fits me better than my other name ever did.

Kassie

My real name is Chaz but if I would have Ben a girl my name would have Ben Lacy  my parents are no help so that's why I have my name kassie

My parents would have named me Jessica, which is what I'm going by. I love the name. Actually, they gave me a good male name too. I'd be happy with that too if it fit me more. It just means I won't be too bothered when people get my name wrong.

Because its genetic makeup is irregular, it quickly changes its form due to a variety of causes.
