Frank Zappa: Freak out, only in it for the money, bongo fury, zoot allures, plus many more

King Crimson: Court of the Crimson King, Lizard, Larks tongues, discipline

Yes: Yes album, fragile, close to the edge

I got to see most of these acts at one time or another. 

My first rock concert in 1977 featured Skynyrd, Heart, Marshall Tucker, The Outlaws and a couple other groups.  It was only a few months before the crash that killed Ronnie Van Zandt and some of the other members of Skynyrd.  I also got to see America and Fleetwood Mac around the same time.

I have the Darkness album cover that I got signed by Bruce and every member of the E Street Band except for the big man Clarence Clemmons.

Powderfinger was not on Decade. An acoustic rendition was supposed to be released around that time on a cancelled album, but the song wasn't released until 1979 (Rust Never Sleeps).

That will teach me to post in the middle of the night while under the influence of pain medication without looking at the actual album. Damn electronic music. I miss those days when you actually had to physically get up and walk over to your turntable and actually flip the album over to hear more music or look through your stack of albums to find the song you were wanting to hear......
