I cannot co-medicate against clotting the blood condition is so absurdly dangerous.  Endrocrinologists (and I've talked to a few) won't touch me with a 10 ft pool.  I had an orchi nearly 13 years ago.  And yes, I am osteopenic at age 33 and taking bone meds.  The ironic thing is, if I could just get on hormones again, it would help with my dysphoria, my back, bones, and my energy levels.

I'm seriously considering just taking a low dose on my own, but I'm really against self medicating.

Kate

Perhaps you should get a second opinion on your condition Kate, some of these endocrinologists and other medical doctor's are extremely conservative based on their fears of malpractice suits, just maybe you might find one that can interpret things in a realistically more positive light. The worst thing we can do is just lie down and take it if there's a chance that what is being said is not correct and is driven by their own fears of a different origin.

Well, I've been dealing with 3 endos so far - 2 of which have dealt with trans issues.  I haven't given up and my family doctor is helping me look, but it has been very difficult so far.

Just Kate there is a lot that can be done for clotting. I agree that you should see a primary care physician and have them refer you to a specialist. They can work with your endo to keep that in check while you start HRT.

And it's funny that blood thinners would have a negative effect on clotting... We use them to break up clots and dissolve them in vascular & stroke patients. There are also devices that can be installed to limit some of the risk. An IVC filter can cut the pulmonary embolism risk down a bit.

Thanks. Yeah, plus losing weight should help as well. Goal is 7-8% (maybe 6-7%, will see) of body fat to give my face slim look with more noticeable facial features - to accenuate cheekbones, jaw, etc. I have ectomorph body, a copy of Pejics body, even same height. So, should be not a problem for the rest of my body, not just face. I'm bragging too much, sorry. :)
Not bragging at all. Sometimes you just want to run the plan out loud and see if it sounds as good there as it does in your own head. And I know about being ectomorph. Freakishly tall and skinny all my life and so are a lot of other mtfs. Once you get past the height though we are quite cute :)

My primary care doctor has been hunting down specialists go me and each of them so far has turned her down. She even asked a personal favor from a friend of hers who is an endo and he flat out told her no way once he heard I have Protein S - said it was just too dangerous.

I hope eventually someone will take a chance on me. I'm not overweight, i exercise regularly, never done drugs, don't smoke, and have only had 4 sips of alcohol in my lifetime.

I keep seaching but its a bit demoralizing. It's why I'm trying to figure out how I could pass without hormones.

@Kate, I am in a similar situation as you...at my late age I knew going into my search that it would be too risky to get on estrogen re the clotting issue. Spiro created a high reading on my kidneys, saw a specialist, test were okay. beside my gender GP I kept my regular GP in the loop. In August saw my Endo & all three Doctors (my regular GP, kidney specialist & Endo concurred estrogen was too risky. Gave it my best shot, it was a let down but I had always considered the reality would be a no go, so not a shock, I can accept no hrt.  It isn't the end of the road for this girl. I agree with my Endo & gender Doctor that I can still live the rest of my life when I can be Jamie (about 80% of the time) dressing in my femme fashions & with make up, mostly passable. I am always Happy in my natural female mode as who I am. There are ways to create boobage without silicone breastforms. So embrace & love the Beautiful you that you can be for the rest of your life. Your face is very female, so no worries about passable. The goal is to blend in, doesn't draw awkward attention & no one cares, people around you & walking by wrapped up in their life just see you as a lady drifting by on crossing each other on their path to where they need to go. Think of all the money you saved by not having to spend thousands of $'s on transition  Now with those saved $'s get out shopping and get the Lady dressed! Oh, and yes, I am a MAC girl!
Cheers!

So... I've posted with makeup, feeling pretty, but I'm wondering...

My wonderful girlfriend tells me that my face already looks quite feminine, and that I don't have anything to worry about... but then, she's biased because she loves me. ;)

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give a critical assessment to my facial structure... so here goes:

That's the blank canvas.  Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

Hold your eyes open a little more, slightly force your eyebrows raise a little and keep practicing it!  Buy yourself a nice wig and do some brow tweezin.  Other than that, she isn't biased.  You have a nice round face it's not too overly masculine.

I was trying to set up my webcam tonight to talk to someone and decided to take a few pics of myself.  I mostly present androgynously (these pictures are how I present normally).  However my spouse tells me I'm starting to move to the female side of androgynous.  I have to admit this is awesome to me and wanted to get your opinions.  I think all I need is a feminine haircut/style, some plucked brows, and makeup/beard shadow cover, and I *might* be able to have a passable look.

Tweeze your eyebrows and you'll look absolutely gorgeous. Seriously. You are friggin booootifal.

Thank you so much!  I'd love to do it.  I wonder if I can get away with it without people thinking I'm transitioning. ;)  Maybe I should look up some guides on how to do it in such a way so my eyebrows can be more androgynous.

I'm not out at work yet, so what I've been doing is shaping and tweezing bit by bit, partly so I don't make a mistake, and partly so it's a gradual process that people can get used to and so that I don't go too far. You look great in the pic, you're lucky to have delicate features :)

Nobody will think you are transitioning.  I can pretty close to guarantee it.  They might think you're a gay man.  Or discovering your inner metrosexual.  Or you're just weird.  But transitioning is the last thing on cisgender people's mind.

Well I'm out at work.  They all know I am transgendered.  It wouldn't be too big of a leap I imagine. ;)

That's a good idea doing it gradually so it isn't so dramatic.  I just need to learn how to do it gradually. ;)

Thanks for your compliments.

Well they specifically know I am NOT transitioning.  I don't want to give anyone the impression I am when I am not.
